Guerrero, misterio and the split

Recommended Posts

Guest bps "The Truth" 21

Alright...

So Guerrero and Misterio have verbally agreed to contracts and will appear any day now on WWF tv.

They are expected to be added to the cruiser division that the WWF wants to promote on Smackdown.

um...

So now they along with almost every other good wrestler will be on the same show.

Now don't get me wrong...I actually think that Raw is a good idea.

RVD and Booker T and Brock Lesner should benefit greatly from the lack of big name stars above them...they should develope better in such an environment...and break through to be major stars.

Even if we do have to sit through Kane vs. NWO...

But...

Smackdown will be crap.

It looks like they have such a great line-up...and they do...

but last I checked Smackdown was only 2 hours long.

Hogan, Rock, Jericho, Angle, Benoit, Storm, Guerrero, Misterio, the rest of the cruisers and HHH...not to mention everyone else...

The guys I mentioned on the Raw crew may benefit...but...

I guarantee that Smackdown will disapoint and people will be posting about how the WWF could fuck up a show with that much talent.

There just isn't enough time for everybody...

...and wasn't that square 1 to begin with?

I've said it before, but if they put Rey on the same roster as Lesnar, I believe Lesnar will accidentally eat him.

that's pretty funny, Nevermortal.

Rey has to go with the cruisers...or there is no point signing him...

So I think he is safe....for now...

I'd like to see them put Eddy on Raw...

An RVD vs. Eddy feud would suit me just fine.

That was something that pissed me off during the draft.  Vince says "I'll take the hardcore division....Maven!"

Flair: "I'll....take....Lita.  WOO!"

WTF!???

Hello Tajiri?

Wow....lets push the cruisers huh.

Dames - Hold ME Down.....Bitch.

If the WWF (Smackdown) is smart they'll use Heat as another way to fit guys in. Use the main eventers on Heat, too. It's a show that could benefit if the WWF knows what they're doing. If you cut the 20 minute promo on SD!, then that opens up time as well. There are ways to use everybody. It just needs to be booked right.

How is Vince going to book Smackdown?  Will it be:

1) 20 min self promo on how Vince "screw" Flair

2) 5 min lightweight match

3) 10 min Stacker 2 commercial

4) 20 min promo with Hogan, Rock, HHH

5) 15 min mainevent of 3 man power trip

6) rest of show 2 midcard squash matches

They SHOULD use Heat better.

I'm fairly certain thta mose homes get MTV than get TNN and UPN.

It always seemed illogical that they didn't put a good show (Raw or Smadkown type)  on MTV...since it has the potential for bigger ratings.

Well Steiner is meant to be  coming in as soon as he's fit. There are rumours that Jonny Storm, Jody Fleisch, Doug Williams, Alex Shane and Gary Steele have been approached (although Shane's out for a year with a bad injury unfortunately). Juvi may be in. a whole bunch of new talent is getting the developmental deal in the next couple of weeks.WWF just seems to be signing people to stop anyone else using them.

A cruiser division with Fleisch and Storm would be great but it's not as if they're going to be giving the cruisers one hour every week. Unless they start firing people WWF should put a stop to the hiring right now.

Who are Jonny Storm, Jody Fleisch, Doug Williams, Alex Shane and Gary Steele?? Guys from Europe? Are they any good? It'd be difficult to get them over, unless they're better than other guys on the roster. I don't need to see more stereotypical gimmicks.

Guerro'll probably go to raw, but I hope he goes to Smackdown!....

Doug Williams and Gary Steele are both British wrestlers, and I've heard that Williams is way awesome.

I'm not sure about the rest, though.  But Jody Fleish and Alex Shane sound familiar.  Is Alex Shane the indy guy who's related to Shawn Michaels?

Since HeAT often has some great midcard and cruiserweight matches, I think its currently being used as best as it can, especially since it's only an hour long.  They could still stand to get rid of the recaps though, or at least if they have to have something of that sort bring back those in-character interview segments (what can I say? I actually miss those :P).

Also, about Guerrero, I must have missed something, because I thought that the WWF wasn't going to sign him a few months ago because of a drunk driving incident?

my point is that if Heat were used as a show with a main event linolving big stars every week (Like Raw and Smackdown) it is possible that they could get the ratings up high on that show.

And if they do that...at least 2 guys that would take up alot of the Smackdown time (on a roster that is too crowded with deserving talent) could be on Heat every week.

I was under the impression that Excess and Heat would become even more of a recap show than they both already were.

On Guererro: The WWF basically took their usual policy towards him, which is "get clean, show us you can perform elsewhere, and we'll bring you back".

On Smackdown: First, I doubt HHH will be on much since his current feud is with the Undertaker and so we will probably see more of him on RAW (at least until Backlash). As for fitting everyone else in, it will be tricky but if they balance their time it should be ok between SD, Heat, and possibly some of Excess.

I hear that Fleisch has turned into a legit main eventer over in Europe.  That's about all I know

Actually, I remember all of those guys from Extreme Warfare (video game).

Ahh... OK, yea that makes sense.  I always thought it was really funny how on the intros for HeAT and Metal there would always be tons of shots of big stars who were NEVER on the show, unless it was a recap.  The question is though, would any of the WWF's big main-eventers willingly be "down-graded" to WWF HeAT? I doubt it... the biggest names I've ever seen on HeAT were a Booker T vs. Edge IC title match and a Dudleyz vs. Big Show & Kane match.  I agree it makes sense to push HeAT and make it a super-show, but if anything it'll just become a cruiserweight's playground.

Alex Shane is about six five, charismatic good on the mic and an okay worker, has done some mental balcony dives but that aint gonna happen anymore after his injury apparently. It's very unlikely that he's related to Shawn Michaels.

Gary Steele former NWA champion works a stiff Japanese style.

Doug Williams very good worker perhaps a bit bland but gets over on his work alone.

Jody Fleisch cruiser high spots and psychology, can work a match in any style and some of his spots are mind blowing. shooting star press to the outside, runs six feet up a wall and flips backwards off it onto his opponent. Sounds like his mathes are just spot fests but there is a lot more to them.

Jonny Storm like Jody Fleisch but maybe not as good all round. Has had a lot of good matches with people who haven't had good matches with anyone else.

Are they better than the guys already in. Doug Williams is very good but maybe there isn't a need for him in a fed which has Benoit.

Shane is WWF material but not yet and besides he's injured.

Steele I haven't seen a lot of but I'd say no.

Storm with Rey in there again probably not.

Fleisch. Yeah charisma, mind blowing moves that's noone's seen before, and he's a solid worker.

But the only reason I see the WWF hiring them is to strangle at birth any British Federation that gets a TV deal, same way that the reason Eddy's back and Perfect is in is to stop WWA and XWF getting anywhere.

If they were able to get the ratings up by using the bigger stars...I wouldn't thikn it would be much of a down grade.

Everyone who has cable has MTV...but not everyone has TNN...and not everyone has UPN.

There's no telling how high they could drive the ratings.

In fact...if they did...Heat could be seen as THE top show...the show that you have to be a top, top guy to get on.

The top guys shouldn't look Heat as a "down-grade". When Heat first started in 1998 the top guys wrestled on it except Steve Austin (He did appear in a non-wrestling role at times). It worked pretty well to. The WWF should go into their video vault and see how Heat was done then.

As long as we get cruiser matches on Heat on a weekly basis (especially cruiser tag matches, a la WCW) then I'll be happy. Wouldn't mind Excess having a couple of first run matches as well. As it is, I can't be bothered to watch it unless the "From the Vault" is exceptionally good.

I've come to the conclusion that the cruiserweight division is useless unless they are allowed to wrestle a non-WWF style match.

Brian is there a such thing as a WWF style cruiser match?  Besides an X Pac match.

I think he means the style that the WWF uses for ALL of their matches.
