Guest Prototype450 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 i was reminded of Positively Kanyon when i saw the MEGA AWESOME triple cage match *sarcasm off* when Mike Awesome threw Kanyon off it. Kanyon turned on DDP and started making fun of him and using his move the Diamond Cutter and called it the Kanyon Cutter. This in turn made for some of the most hilarious sneak attacks I've ever seen in the history of wrestling. One of which involved a shot of the arena wcw was in. Some guy was walking down the stairs and Kanyon jumps off of this hill and gives the guy the Kanyon Cutter. This is probably the best gimmick or angle that Kanyon has ever been used in. My favorite one was when they did a pan of the building outside and some random guy was walking in the dark...and you can barely see Kanyon giving him the Kanyon Cutter. Also, when the ring guys are setting up before the show, he gives a guy the Kanyon Cutter...then runs to the camera and goes BANG! Great fucking gimmick. I loved this segment *Mike Sanders is walking through the hallway; Jarrett is pissed and busts a guitar over his head* *20 minutes later, Sanders is getting up and Daffney runs through and knocks him with a chair.* *20 minutes later, he gets up, and Kanyon randomly shows up and Kanyon Cutters him. "BANG!" Then there was his book, "Positively Kanyon." He had a book signing and no one came. Then you see tons of people lining up and there's a sign, "Free drink voucers for over 21." The Perfect Event thing where Kanyon ran in at the end of a faux 1800-Call-ATT commercial and Kanyon Cuttered Jimmy Baron was gold. The co-author of his book, Mark "Smokey" Madden. The fact that the book had a brick in it for a few weeks. Kanyon reading chapters out of the book, which featured some worked shoot comments about DDP. "BANG!" That was GREAT! Sanders debut match. It all came from Sanders using Jeff's guitar (who was at ringside) on Crowbar. So Jeff and Daff had legit beefs with him...then out of nowhere comes Kanyon, gives him a Kanyon cutter, and leaves. That was one of the best things they'd EVER done in WCW. Funny as shit. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2003 Kanyon will you knock that off?! -JJ I believe that was from one of the backstage segments where Kanyon was with his partner, and kept on sizing him up for the Kanyon Cutter despite him being his teammate. And yes YNA, that was fucking great. I hope that makes it to DVD some day, in some form. Russo was with WCW at the time, as he was the one who made WCW rehire Sanders I believe. Russo saw potential in the guy, and decided to bring him back. I'm 99% sure this was Russo's doing (the segment). It was Juneish if I remember correctly. Those videos were so great, I was tearing up during some the Best of Kanyon video from the Thunder 2000 special. And that segment with Douglas was fucking awesome.
