Guest Vern Gagne Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 The guys is a perfectly fine actor, and can very funny. But some of you seem obsessed with the guy. What is it about him that you love so much.
Guest Lethargic Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 It's part of the internet rule book. To be on the net you must love Bruce Campbell. Just like you should only like independent movies and underground music. As long as it's not popular or successful, it's good. I think he kicks ass. Love Evil Dead, loved Brisco County, will probably love Bubba Ho Top, loved his book, have his autograph. But people do take it a bit too far. Face it, the things I just mentioned are the only things worth a damn he's ever done. He's a cool guy, he's great with fans and very down to earth but he's not gonna be Batman, he's not gonna win an Oscar, he's just gonna be that guy from the Evil Dead movies. Face it, everything else he's done is crap.
Guest MrRant Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 And must like either Star Wars and Star Trek or both... but you can only pick one to be a Uber Fan Boy of. If you choose them both then the whole of the internet will collapse in upon itself.
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 FUCK STAR WARS FUCK STAR TREK Wait a minute..What's going on with my computer?
Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I loathe Star Wars, and don't care one way or the other for Star Trek. ::shuts off modem::
Guest Dmann2000 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 It's okay to hate Star Wars or Star Trek, just as much of the internet is built around hate of those 2 franchises.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Ok, back to Bruce Campbell now. I read his book too and it was pretty funny, but I would like to have seen him go more in depth on his post-Evil Dead work and I wanted much more on Brisco County, Jr. Cool show, I hope it comes out on DVD. Campbell was just a cool guy, who was in a handful of cult classics. That's all you need to be an internet idol.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I like Campell, and if I got to meet him I'd say "Like your movies," but I wouldn't cream my pants. Oh, and I'm a Star Wars fan, but I don't care for Star Trek. When I was a kid I went out as an X-Wing fighter pilot for Halloween once. That's about as far as my obsession goes...
Guest TUS_02 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I met him at a signing and he actually took 5 minutes to talk to the group I was with. Extremely cool guy and even made fun of one of my friends. The best was that some guy would go up and down the line saying Bruce was busy, so don't ask for pictures. We got up there and he saw the camera and ASKED for pics to be taken.
Guest Vyce Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Bruce Campbell is like the Chris Benoit of B-Movie actors. I've seen almost everything he's ever done, I own and love his book, and I've met him once. He's incredibly nice, funny, and cool guy, who most of all APPRECIATES his fans. That's enough for me to like him.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 He's a funny guy who's made a lot of enjoyable movies (and Congo), but more importantly, he respects his fans and isn't too big to go the extra mile if on the street or at a sci-fi convention. Plus he's Ash.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 ...Maniac Cop...Within The Woods...The Evil Dead...Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn...Army Of Darkness..."The Adventures Of Brisco County, Jr."...the only interesting character on the shows "Hercules" and "Xena: Warrior Princess"... He's the fucking MAN. That's why we love him. He's humble to his fans, is witty as fuck, is willing to do just about anything in movies, and doesn't get the credit we b-movie marks feel he truly deserves by the "mainstream" movie fans. Bruce Campbell is to movies what Tommy Dreamer is to wrestling. Hell, they even LOOK somewhat alike.

Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Bruce Campbell is the man. There's just not more to say then that. Anyone think Nick Brendon (from Buffy) could be "the next Bruce Campbell?" (if there is such a thing)
Guest Vern Gagne Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Alot of people on the internet seem to take their comics very seriously. A small group even takes offense to the old Batman tv show.
Guest J*ingus Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 If you mean Xavier, yeah, I could kinda see that. His voice is less monotone than Bruce's, too. Meanwhile, Bruce as Tommy Dreamer would be fairly hilarious.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I met him when he came to my school for his book tour. He's hilarious...and that's about enough for me to like someone.
Guest MrRant Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I like the old Batman show in a campy way. Has anyone heard the commentary on the Batman movie w/Burt Ward and Adam West? Hilarious.
Guest razazteca Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 What no love for Jack of All Trades? Brisco County Jr. is the only thing of his that I would buy. And maybe a best of DVD of his Hercules & Xena episodes. Star Wars sucks and the main villian from Brisco County would make a great Scarecrow in the new Batman movie.
Guest SP-1 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I love his work but I'm not really a fanatic about him. Colin Ferrell and Ewan McGregor top him insofar as I'd probably see most movies they are in just because they're great actors to me. And I like both Wars and Trek. *watches the internet die*
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Jack Of All Trades wasn't widespread enough for people to see it. Me included. It's like Relic Hunter...
Guest Lethargic Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Jack of all Trades was horrible. Besides a few funny lines of Bruce dialogue here and there it blew. I always hated the Batman show when I was a kid. As I got older I got over the "it ruined the comic" type of attitude towards it and really got into it as the slapstick comedy that it is. The show is hilarious and last time I checked the comics, they still look the same to me.
Guest SP-1 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Are you talking about the 60's show or the excellent BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I LOVED Jack of All Trades. Bruce was funny, the girl was hot, and the stories were stupid. If they ever put that on DVD I would buy it
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I have the DVD with the Ward and West commentary. Great stuff. "The crest was nonsense in Latin. It mean 'don't be a cheeseburger' or something stupid like that." I love the Jack of All Trades theme song and Bruce was good in it, but it just tried to hard to be camp and couldn't quite pull it off in that winking fashion like Batman did.
