Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I like the old one better. It had a better tagline and a disturbing image. This on has "Inspired by a True Story" and Leatherface looking sad.
Guest eiker_ir Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 it's not bad, but it should be more disturbed looking, this one looks a little too mmm, clean. but i think is decent enough.
Guest KanadianKrusty Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Let's hope that it ain't going to be some lame-ass "let's not scare the teens too much" movie, ala Scream, like we've seen so much in the past years.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 it's not bad, but it should be more disturbed looking, this one looks a little too mmm, clean. Dead right. I can't think of the right word, but it's too something. Professional maybe... or perhaps moody. Reminded me a bit of Phantom of the Opera actually. But I think I will buy this poster and frame it if the movie doesn't suck too terribly.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I really can't make myself get up for this movie

If there is only one thing in the world that bothers me it's people who don't realize that SCREAM WASN' T A HORROR MOVIE!!!!!!!!!
Guest eiker_ir Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Original Poster original posters, see what i mean, they have a certain disturbing feel to them.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Now that's a good movie poster. I have a 27x40 TCM2 poster in my bedroom that I bought at a garage sale about a decade ago and just found in my shed.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Let's hope that it ain't going to be some lame-ass "let's not scare the teens too much" movie, ala Scream, like we've seen so much in the past years. And the poster is pretty cool.
Guest NoCalMike Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Scream is a satire. Indeed. Scream was a satire. Scream 2 & 3 were quite simply, Cash Cows.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Very much also true. 2 and 3 piss all over the first one for no other reason than a pay day.
Guest Renegade Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 In the end Scream 3 was an unintentional satire of itself.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 They should have stopped after the first one. Dammit...WHY?!?!?!?!?!?! They tarnished the first one so so bad by making everything into a frigging joke. I hate Scream 2 and 3...HATE HATE HATE. Anyway...Jessica Biel is hot so I'll be seeing the TCM remake.
Guest NoCalMike Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Scream 2 & 3 made it more difficult to enjoy Scream once the years went by. When Scream was made, Wes Craven made no bones, that he was making a satire on the slasher genre. So when 2 & 3 came out, he totally abandoned that theory, and decided, "oh nevermind, now it is a serious trilogy" What a load of shit that was.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 The 2nd and 3rd Screams are rancid little movies. The characters are just too easy to hate and you want them dead...but they keep living! Way too predictable movies as well.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I'm just so damn fearful that they'll fuck up TCM the same way that they did all the other remakes/re-hashes that I once looked forward to: - Lost In Space: loved the tv series, think Oldman rocks, think Chabert is eye-candy and could barely stomach the movie. - Godzilla: grew up watching the old Japanese versions, was disgusted by the crap that was released. - Star Wars prequels: waited most of my adult life for them, yet I can't even sit through them. Having said that, Leatherface + Jessica Biel = nl5 going to see the movie regardless of how bad it is.
Guest Prototype450 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I like the First 2 Screams. Except I could never understand why they were killing off random people in those movies that didn't even know Sydney or had anything to do with her. Example and SPOILER Drew Barrymore was just sitting in her house minding her on business and all of sudden they kill her boyfriend and kill her for no reason. Why Stu and Billy kill her if they wanted revenge on Sydney. Jada Pinkett and Omar Epps got killed off for what I don't know why. They go to the movies and the Killer just kills them for what? Did they know Sydney? OH, and I hope this remake will not shit on the Legacy of the Original and Be as bad as the Next Generation. But we can't go wrong. We have Jessica Biel and the guy who played Zangief and Steve Lattimer from the Program(i think)
Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I figured out what this reminded me of. Remember the poster for Backlash in 1999? Mankind is on it in just about the same pose and lighting and overall feel. Somebody see if you can find a copy of it online.

Guest eiker_ir Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Foley looks more like Leatherface in that poster than Leatherface in the TCS remake poster.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 They killed Drew Berrymore because she was Stu's ex girlfriend. Pretty much only Billy would want revenge on Sidney... Stu would have no just cause other than being insane. Killing his ex girlfriend makes sense from his perspective.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Oh...they chose them in the second movie (Omar and Jada) because their names fit the killer's pattern... which was immediately abandoned after discovery. Another reason the second movie blows.
Guest Prototype450 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 thank you bps. God reading what you said makes me hate the Scream movies now.
Guest eiker_ir Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 btw guys here's the trailer, it just got online http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/thet...trailer_lg.html i''m downloading it right now, i'll comment later
Guest godthedog Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 eh. saw the trailer, and it looks way too polished. and the words "from producer michael bay" sealed it for me. but the middle third of the trailer itself looks really awesome. the first third is the requisite "oh, we're all happy and serene now, but something bad will happen soon" set-up, and the last third is the requisite "let's quick-cut to as many running scenes as humanly possible with fast music" stuff, but the middle is way cool with the flash bulb effects.
Guest the pinjockey Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 That reminds me of the Hannibal poster, almost dead on.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Could be creepy. I hope they gore it and not puss out to recient Hollywood horror films. I don't think the producer should have his name in the credits like that though. For some movies it's ok, but for this it bugs me.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Yes, Hannibal poster. I agree 100%, pinjockey.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 The 2nd and 3rd Screams are rancid little movies. The characters are just too easy to hate and you want them dead...but they keep living! Way too predictable movies as well. Gail was likeable, but the other two. UGH. And I think one of the nails in the coffin was trying to buy Jackie from Roseanne as a blood thirsty killer able to take down men twice her size.
