Guest Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Misawa has an injured knee (ligament damage possibly) and with Marufuji and Kobashi out as well they may be in some deep trouble. Another odd thing happened when Yuji Nagata "lapsed into a nervous breakdown" in fear of losing his "ace" position in NJPW. It's all at Strong Style Spirit . Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Jeez, this ain't a good time for Puro. Misawa, Kobashi, Kawada, Marafuji, Vader, etc. all out of action, and of course Mutoh could join them at any second. Is it just me, or are Toryumon and Zero-One just about the only organizations that show signs of stability right now?
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Well it was bound to happen, due to the self-serving booking thats been going on for years now, all the top draws in Japan are getting old, just like the WWF. As you say Jingus, Toryumon is one of the few feds to actually feature young guys in top positions, so they should continue to have success. As far as the others go, they need to elevate some fresh guys and fast, otherwise the top draws will go out from injury leaving them with nothing. This is why I like Jun Akiyama, although in a couple of years he'll probably go the same way.
Guest Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I think New Japan will be fine if they use common sense and take the belt off of Yasuda and give it to Nagata. Nagata and Sasaki have had their respectability and believability damaged by stupid booking as of late. So, hopefully Nagata will go over and Sasaki will go back to being the no selling master. As for All Japan, they're pretty screwed whatever they do. NOAH is also in deep water as result of the injuries. I hope Kobashi can come back in some decent shape and help that organization out.
