Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Someone just do it. Now. The novelty has worn off. The gimmick has worn thin. A small amount of people still care about this fucker (because he is THE LEAST LIKEABLE wrestling character this side of X-Pac) and that number is getting smaller by the week. The one legged wrestling was moderately interesting the first week, but just stupid and disturbing now. There is no reason for him to be farting around the main events, and less reason for him to get equal or more TV time than the world champion. Just take him the fuck off TV and pay out his contract. He'll be well off, have lived his dream, and most importantly, not ruining SD! anymore. Do it. Now.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted July 18, 2003 The compassionate part of my soul, though agreeing with you in the need to get rid of him, wants to see it down only after his PPV match. The kid will be able to say he had a match on a WWE PPV. Against the owner, no less. That should be enough to satisfy the dream. After that, though, show his one-legged ass the door. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Its definately disturbing and imagine what the Wrestlers of Smackdown will have to endure now that others will have to wrestle him over the weeks months maybe a year.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 18, 2003 I'd rather see him on Smackdown over Vince, Sable, Big Show, Rikishi, or Steph

Guest Human Fly Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Why not have him wrestle against actual wrestlers and see what he can do in the CW division? I feel bad for him because when Hogan got pissy and left they had no choice but to through this kid into a situation that he was not ready for.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Have you ever thought that some people like Gowan? If you want him off your TV, then turn over. I acknowledged that I also acknowledged that the number is dwindling rapidly(to the point where TO was booing his ass). His hop-in pop tonight nowhere NEAR justified his main event positioning. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 18, 2003 The ad for Vengeance doesn't really help his cause either. I mean, fuck, a heel turn a month or so down the road with Gowan continually yelling "I'm a fucking hero! I'm an inspiration! I have one fucking leg! I'm a wrestler! This is my dream! Stop booing me!"... it would get over like a fucker.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 18, 2003 well Zack can always use the fake leg as a Weapon....not even a Foreign object because technically it is part of his ring attire.. which was the excuse how Hogan and Piper could whip people with their belts when they had belts. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Maybe they'll team/feud him with Billy Gunn in yet another attempt to get Assman heat. He could be hitting on Torrie, asking her if she wants some of his second leg. We saw his acting performance with Sable. It would be comedy gold.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 18, 2003 The guy won't be around for even a year probably. It's only a matter of time before he fucks his knee up badly. Quite frankly, I say to let him go for as long as he could.
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Zach would be better used in sporadic appearances instead of constantly being drilled into the audience. They should put him on RAW as Maven's manager.

Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted July 18, 2003 The ad for Vengeance doesn't really help his cause either. My brother (who is as casual as you can get without being a non-viewer)'s reaction to that ad: "Pffft" I mean, fuck, a heel turn a month or so down the road with Gowan continually yelling "I'm a fucking hero! I'm an inspiration! I have one fucking leg! I'm a wrestler! This is my dream! Stop booing me!"... it would get over like a fucker. Reminds me of what a certain someone was doing in the last two months of 1999.........
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 18, 2003 He isn't going anywhere anytime soon, as he signed a multi-year contract with WWE. With that said, I hope that after his match at the PPV, they'll totally demote him back down to the bottom of the card, and have him take part in feuds and the such there. I think that the only reason he's in there with Vince and Co. right now is to just really get his name out, show the fans what he's all about, so that when he IS placed in a more usefull posistion on the card, the fans will already be familier with him. There is no excuse for him to both be taking part in major angles with the "big boys" nor is there an excuse for him getting so much TV time these past few weeks. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 18, 2003 what they could say to write him off TV at least for the majority of the time is that Vince controls his contract and just puts him on the Promotional Tour signing autographs and promoting WWE events at arena's and ticketmaster officies.... kinda the Tour of Duty HBK was on while he was between Rehabbing his back and running TWA from 98-2002
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 18, 2003 I also just want to add really quick that this guy can be an accent to WWE if they work with it the right way. It's just as of right now, they aren't really doing so. He could be a huge ass heel after this Vince shit in the Cruiserweight division, or in the "filler division". Heck, he could make matches with guys like Maven, Richards, and all of these other guys who never really do anything at least interesting. I can't wait for him to turn heel, that'll be when he really shines. I like the guy, and he can be entertaining in the ring, but like I said before, he needs to be pulled out of the main event type slots. Not just because he simply doesn't belong there, but also because by being in such a high profile posistion, he'll get much more time, and fans will obviously either tire of him or will just get used to him to the point where his only having one leg will not "instantly" make him special anymore to the fans. He should be given to the fans in very small doses, but that's just me.

He's here, and he'll be around for years. To Vince's credit, it isn't every day that a one-legged young wrestler comes around. He may as well milk the gimmick dry while he can, and you can be damn sure Vince will do it. I feel sorry for Gowan in many ways, and I'm sure you all know why, it's so obvious. And, aside from the over exposure, part of the problem was he always acted (and continues to) act like it was his God given right to receive a contract because he had one leg. He hadn't actually proven himself in anyway as a wrestler, and somehow Vince is evil for not just giving him a contract. He seemed very heelish there. Thus far he's been booked horribly, and nowhere near how I would have done it. From day one he's acted like a heel, from what they had him doing in the ring, and even his expressions. I feel he's just a natural heel character. I thought that a better way to bring him in would to be to do so very slowly. At the very most I would have accepted his coming in to be the first to beat "Da Mack". Like I said, I feel sorry for the guy. It's obvious week after week that Vince is doing all he can to just exploit the guy in every way he can in order to get some widespread exposure. He's doing too much with him, too fast, and if they don't slow it down VERY soon, he could become totally worthless in WWE. We must all face facts here also, just as Gowan himself has said in interviews and to me personally... ...had he never lost his leg, he would not have worked in TNA, and would not be in WWE right now. This all just comes down to WWE fucking up "sure bets" one after another, and Gowan very well could have been a sure bet in terms of being usefull. Right now it isn't working, but to totally write him off at this time is a bit premature.
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Report post Posted July 18, 2003 He hasn;t impressed me at all, and he comes off like a cocky prick. I mean, dude, you have one leg..atleast workout your upper body! I mean...really. And how bad would it have been if he blew his knee out doing the moonsault on SHow?

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 18, 2003 brings another point... How far does Vince wanna go to get over as a Heel? | All the shit he use to do we thought was bad.... then now we hear through storyline he pimped out his teenage daughter to secure deals and he wants to feel big and bad by beating on a Cripple kid... Thats it.. Lets just call him Mr.Burns.

Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Gowan pisses me off, too. I'm all for people living out their dream, but he isn't living out anything. Vince didn't hire him because of his skill, he hired him because he had one leg and he thought it would look funny. It would be different if Gowan came to the WWE and showed that he was more than a sideshow with in-ring talent or charisma, but the guy has neither right now. He looks so unprepared out there. It's almost an insult to those who had to fight adversity for there dreams. i don't know. Gowan probably is a great guy, he's done alot. He probably also wants to earn his spot too. But being pushed down peoples' throats like this doesn't help.

Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted July 18, 2003 When they turn him heel, they should have him pull a Jericho type deal where he goes searching through books, and comes up with something (loophole, disability act, etc.) that ends up with his opponents having to wrestle on one leg. I think that would work after you do his "I am a hero" schtick for a while. You could mile a few more months out of him with that.
