It was a 1982 game. Steve Williams was an OL for Oklahoma. Not a big deal, but it was interesting that he had the nickname Dr.Death before he became a professional wrestler.

i used to watch alot of doc on espn classic, canada, the uwf was on like every wensday for 2 hours and every week for like 2 months hed be facing the same two people paul orndoff or bob orton, i dont get the channel anymore sooooo i dont get the old school shows

For those who are going to ask, Dr. death got his nickname in high school. I forgot the reason, but it had something to do with wearing a hockey mask before a game/match/whatever.

That UWF sounds like Herb Adams version...

 

Williams broke his nose, and wore a hockey mask for protection at a High School wrestling meet. The nickname stuck from there.
