Guest CanadianChris Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 (CNN) -- Televangelist Pat Robertson has asked his audience to pray to God for three justices to leave the U.S. Supreme Court. He would like to see them replaced with more conservative justices. On the Web site of his Christian Broadcasting Network, he said, "One justice is 83 years old, another has cancer and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?" His appeal followed a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that decriminalized sodomy. On his Web site, he said this ruling opened the door to, among other things, homosexual marriages and bigamy. (Credit: http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/07/17/cnna.robertson/ ) ----------------------- However, on his CBN television show, he openly prayed for "the hand of God to rest heavy" on those three justices (Stephens, Ginsburg and O'Connor). Sounded like he wouldn't mind if they were offed, either. I'd like to see God wait for the next Democratic president before smiting down those three. Uncle Pat would just LOVE that. And isn't it about time for Robertson to retire from the ministry? I mean, he IS 73, after all.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 People like Robertson need to be put to sleep. They unintentionally hurt the GOP by association.
Guest SP-1 Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 *shakes head* I hate mixing religion and government. It just doesn't work.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 People like Pat give humanity a bad name.
Guest godthedog Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 (edited) pat robertson is the 'showgirls' of tv personalities. everything that comes out of his mouth is so gloriously bad it somehow becomes a twisted sort of poetry. i still stand by that statement. i need to start watching the 700 club on a regular basis. he probably tosses out a lot of gems that go by unnoticed. Guest TheGame2705 Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 I can understand where he's coming from but he does it in such a radical way that it does more harm than good.
Guest Mad Dog Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 He was doing good pointing out that some of those guys are old and dying. Then he said everything else.
Guest Cerebus Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 As a devout Christian and an arch Republican.... Fuck Pat Robertson.
Guest Vyce Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 He's reaching new levels of absurdity, but it's entertaining. Everything that comes out of his mouth is just ridiculous.
