They're sequeling Desperado?

Ughhh.....

On the bright side, Underworld (another trailer you can grab off that site) looks pretty fucking swank.

Aybody care to share what happens in the movie? Is Antonio Banderas in it and what the plot might be?

Yes, he is in it.

El Mariachi (Banderas) has retreated into a life of isolation. He is forced out of hiding by Sands (Johnny Depp), a corrupt CIA agent. Sands recruits the reclusive hero to sabotage a plot by the evil cartel kingpin Barillo (Willem Dafoe), who is planning to assassinate the president of Mexico. El Mariachi has his own reasons for returning – retribution and revenge.

Also, didn't Trejo die in Desperado ?

I can't wait to see this. But, then I get a bad feeling... it's been over 2 1/2 years since filming wrapped. It's just coming out now ?

It hasn't been anything close to 2 and a half years. It started filming last summer. And I'm pretty sure it was only delayed because of Rodriguez's commitments to the Spy Kids franchise.

Actually, it started filming in the summer of 2001, wrapped later that year.

And your right on the Spy Kids thing.

Hopefully Banderas will not make me go hey why the hell is the dad from Spy Kids killing people?!

Ever since Desperado I've only remebered him as the dude from Spy Kids and Desperado.

Characters who were killed in the first two installments won't be back. BUT...the actors who portrayed those characters CAN come back and play NEW characters.

Imagine it now.

Eli Marachi walks down the street and sees Cheech Marin.

Marachi: Didn't you die in a gunfight i was in about 8 years ago?!

Cheech: Naw man, that's someone else.

In the Desperado, Banderas had me questioning my sexuality for like two seconds.

*leaves thread*

The same goes for me.

That film was one of my worst experiances in watching film ever. Not just because of how bad and shitty it was, it had to do with where I watched it (small theater on Clemson campus, no surroundsound...only two speakers up front) and other stuff.

The weird thing to me about Ecks vs Sever was that it was that it seemed like they took a cool movie and then took a really shitty movie and added them together. The Lucy Liu movie was cool. It was nothing but her tight black leather firing guns and kicking major ass. She hardly talked. She just looked hot and killed a LOT of people.

Then you had the Antonio Banderas movie where he moped around about some crap, carried a shotgun and mumbled through some lines nobody could understand.

If the whole movie was like the scene where Lucy first shows up and the scene in the mall or whatever where she went crazy, what a kick ass action movie. Instead we get to see sweaty Antonio for an hour carrying around a shotgun and never doing a damn thing with it.

It also kept me wondering why those two were enemies and then partners. Cause really, Antonio should've been dead after 4 minutes. Liu was set up as the ultimate bad ass, she defeated an entire police force single handedly. But yet she could never manage to beat this drunk, fat detective who seemed to have no skill AT ALL.
