Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted July 19, 2003 Question 1. Is Teddy a Police Informer or a Cop? I'm only asking because he says he's either at several points in the film. Frankly, it would make sense if he was an informer, and was using Leonard to bump off anyone who figured him out. You know, Leonard manipulates himself into belieiving that Teddy is John G, its pretty reasonable that Teddy's been using him for a while. Question 2. Why didnt Teddy recognise Leonards Pickup at the deserted barn. Question 3. Who killed Jorja Fox, Leonard or the rapist? Is it also reasonable to presume that, while Sammy Jenkis' story is true, Sammy killing his wife is yet another manipulation by Leonard to himself, just like Teddy says. Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 19, 2003 Question 1. Is Teddy a Police Informer or a Cop? He was a cop, a cop trying to score a few bucks by using Lenny. Question 2. Why didnt Teddy recognise Leonards Pickup at the deserted barn. He was "playing" him, as he did throughout the entire film. Question 3. Who killed Jorja Fox, Leonard or the rapist? Is it also reasonable to presume that, while Sammy Jenkis' story is true, Sammy killing his wife is yet another manipulation by Leonard to himself, just like Teddy says. I believe Lenny, but there is not a clear cut answer. The film is presented so you can believe either thing you want, clues are there for both. Christopher Nolan has said this himself, he wanted people to go on discussing and wondering about the film from here on out. I suppose to continue building interest, and to keep people thinking about it. For me, the evidence is there saying that Lenny did it, I personally feel 100% about that. Guest Mole Report post Posted July 20, 2003 I believe Lenny killed his wife too and that Sammy Jenkin's story wasn't true at all; Lenny just made that part up to deal with the stuff he does remember. I used to think that Lenny was faking it; how would be know if he had this disease if he has no memory? He wouldn't know that he had this condition because it didn't happen until he lost his memory. You know what I am saying?
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted July 20, 2003 That was the whole deal with Sammy and remembering him. Relating to Sammy helped him to remember his problem. Remember that scene in the bathroom, it seems like he totally spaces out, then sees the name on his hand and it answers what's wrong with him. I think there's even a line about 'remembering Sammy helps keep my own disease in focus,' or something like that. And even though his short term memory is shot, that doesn't mean that vague elements can't enter into his long term memory after serious repitition. Like he still remembers that his wife is dead and that he's searching for John G. even when he can't see the tattoos to remind him.
