The 1&Only non-1890s Raw thread for 7/21

This is our Clashish edition of Raw, as we get a follow-up with Kane, fallout from the Jericho petition, and the HAH_LEE_WOOD match between Y2J and HBK. La Resistance will suck, HHH will hold down, and a jolly time will be had by all. Plus the possibility of JR in a Kane mask. I'd laugh.

And hey, this is #3000! Whoa daddy!

So here's the thread for Raw.

(P.S.: "Well-Revered" J.O. is cooler than "Good ol'" J.R.," even if O'Rorig does have syphilis.)

WRESTLEMANIA REMATCH:

SHAWN MICHAELS vs. CHRIS JERICHO

July 21, 2003

Monday's RAW is already beginning to take shape. In a WrestleMania XIX rematch, the legendary Shawn Michaels will go one on one with the "Highlight of the Night" Chris Jericho.

Also, Rob Van Dam claims he is responsible for Kane's random acts of violence as of late. With that on his mind, Van Dam has signed on to battle his former tag team partner. What will happen when the former Tag Team Champions meet each other in the ring? Will RVD be just another one of Kane's victims? Or will Van Dam be able to curb the big red monster's mean streak? Find out Monday night on RAW on The New TNN at 9/8 CT.

Last week, many RAW Superstars signed a petition to get Stone Cold Steve Austin relieved of his duties as Co-General Manager. Apparently their voice has been heard. According to Eric Bischoff, Linda McMahon will be at RAW Monday night to remove Stone Cold as Co-General Manager.

All this and more Monday, July 21 on The New TNN at 9/8 CT.

Linda is due for a heel turn. Her and Bischoff hooking up would be funny as hell.

Starting the RAW Thread right after starting the HEAT thread. You're on a roll! And you plugged another thread by you in the title as well! Awesome!

Prediction for HBK/Y2J:

It won't end clean. Let's see if that brave prediction actually comes true.

Yes she is. And that's the exact same gif I use as my avatar, it's just cramped due to board restrictions.

*quotes gif again to further raise amount of hot french dancing chicks in this thread*

Yeah I know I just wanted to do a service to my people. And by virtue of you quoting my enlarged pic, next to your avatar, it's synchronized gyrating! I love it, especially while the techno Rico music plays on Heat.

Hey, as long as Jericho wins by whatever means, I'll be happy for the rest of tomorrow night.

I love it, especially while the techno Rico music plays on Heat.

I don't mind the new music, but I do miss "You Look So Good To Me"

*ducks a tomato*

Hey, it was catchy and fitted his gimmick well.

OK then *clears throat*

Back to topic. What will happen between Linda and Austin tomorrow? No that I care too much about that tired authority figure crap, but what will they do?

Some (not) possible scenarios off the top of my hat:

1. Linda fires Austin, thus turning at least tweener. Bischoff gets entire control of RAW. I could see Austin taking an extended hiatus to prepare for one last match at WMXX, and since he's not entertaining me anymore I would like that. But it won't happen because Linda is a face 4 life.

2. Linda fires nobody, but introduces yet ANOTHER authority in William Regal. Sadly this is quite possible, and it will suck.

3. Linda fires Bischoff, or at least demotes him to manager or something, giving Austin the control. That would suck, too.

4. Linda fires Austin and Lawler and demotes Bischoff to color commentator to replace the King and get rid of the whole authority figure crap on RAW. That's a dream of mine and won't happen.

5. Linda fires Austin who goes to Smackdown, where he challenges Brock Lesnar to one last match at Summerslam where he retires and puts Brock over. Won't happen because it would screw up all other plans and Austin can't wrestle right now. But I'd like to see it.

Any other ideas?

It's likely going to be Regal, which will excite Bob Barron but nobody else.

Remember when we had Vince McMahon employing Eric Bischoff employing Chief Moreley employing the Dudley Boyz? RAW IS BUREAUCRACY

Posted

I'm all in favor for Bischoff with 100% control over RAW again.

I wouldn't mind seeing a possible heel turn with Linda therefore getting the name "Linda McBitch".

Ok, so tomorrow on RAW we have HBK Vs. Y2J. We get RVD Vs. Kane. Austin might get fired, but it'll probably lead to Linda replacing Eric Bischoff with Shane McMahon.

What else do we have to look forward to?

Evolution running around? Super Orton Cutters? People playing the game? Is the Rock gonna be there?

Oh god, please not another McMahon. Even if it's Shane.

I mark for Super Orton Cutters.

Hopefully, we'll see more Rico.

And the very slim possibility of the Rock making another RAW appearance?

Is this RAW???????

Even though Rock being on is a somewhat remote prospect...

I'm most certain we'll see Fuck Goldberg return! Oh joy and rapture!

Oh, and something I remembered skimming back over the tape from last Raw--even though he got the crap kicked out of him by Kane, it was obvious by his body language and facial expressions that Dreamer was against the petition, but was with the others mainly out of peer pressure. Either he didn't sign it or signed it reluctantly.

If they bring that up, it would be a surprising, smart aspect of all this.

So...guess they won't address it at all.

Yeah, the match could be good. However, does it really matter if Jericho wins? Michaels beat him at the show where the win was important. With the way they've treated Jericho, a clean win over Michaels on Raw wouldn't do anything. The audience wouldn't care since Raw isn't as big as WrestleMania, and they'd probably look to Jericho's win as a fluke. If Michaels wins or Jericho cheats, it does further damage to his dead character. If Jericho wins or Michaels cheats, it doesn't help anyone and probably hurts Michaels (who I believe is the only true contender for Triple H's title). Eh...I'll watch for this match though.

Jericho isn't going anywhere. I don't even care about him anymore as far as getting a push since I've accepted he's not going to be a main eventer again.

If we get a great match at least 10 minutes long, I'll be satisfied with that.

Which is why I'm guessing they will and SHOULD fuck this whole match's finish to have it saved for SummerSlam.

If Jericho defeats Michaels clean, it'll mean more for Jericho. Plus he'll have more bragging rights.

I think he meant Micheals is the only guy who is booked strong enough to be a contender for the belt. Read between the lines and don't be using unnessesary, cheap insults towards other posters.

Oh boy, just what we want to see another one month reign with Michaels that ends with another HHH victory. And I say whatever I want, its called the 1st Amendment.

You really are a dumb shit, you know that? I was obviously joking around, hence the "bitch" comment on the end of the post. And the poster didn't say that he wanted HBK to win. He just said that he is the only guy who is booked like he COULD win. In other words, a strong contender.

You don't really understand the 1st Amendment do you?

I could care less about HBK v. Jericho. A week ago I asked people why I should care- No one gave me a good answer.

Fuck Shawn Michaels- The only reason to watch a match with him these days is to hope he finally takes the bad bump and is crippled for life

Exactly. Michaels, and perhaps Goldberg, are the only ones who have been built up as contenders for the title. Unlike past contenders who have lost to Triple H, he's been booked as a person who won't give up and keeps coming back for more. In other words, he's the only one who's lost to the champ without their feud ending. The writers have made Kane, RVD, and Booker T give up after their feuds. For example, rather than continuing the struggle to get to the title, Kane & RVD settled for the worthless tag titles. Booker T settled for second-best: the Intercontinental title. The directions that they've taken after their losses make it seem like they've accepted the fact that they're not ready for the championship.

I agree that Michaels shouldn't have been built up as the only worthy opponent for Triple H. He shouldn't have won the title and he shouldn't win it any time soon. It doesn't look good for an injured wrestler who doesn't work regularly to be built up as better than the younger and healthier talent...but it's too late for that.

If Jericho defeats Michaels clean, it'll mean more for Jericho.  Plus he'll have more bragging rights.

Michaels defeated Jericho clean at WrestleMania, the WWE's biggest show of the year. If Jericho beats Michaels clean at RAW or SummerSlam, how does it give him more bragging rights?

Funny how I read this:

coming from the same person who previous posted this:

But whatever. Anyway, fuck Shawn Michaels. Like I was saying earlier, there's just no point in giving the world title to a cripple who can't defend it on a regular basis. I don't even know why HBK keeps whining about his damn back. Ric Flair had his back BROKEN during his career and he's doing just fine. Chris Jericho needs to go over this time. He has to.
