Guest David Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Any good rap songs out there that i should get?
Guest Nightscrawler Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 "Get by" by Talib Kweli is a good song. But since you really like 50 Cent, try listening to his songs with Lloyd Banks from G-Unit on them.
Guest shlidgn90 Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 try to find the new outkast song ghetto music. i would like to mention trying most of the talib kweli album. also try out black stars respiration feat. common. if you want to hear something older, any song from ice cubes america's most wanted or death certificate would be good to listen to.
Guest crandamaniac Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Masta Ace "Disposable Arts". I'm talking about the whole album here. It's really that great. If you don't want the whole thing, then go for the songs "Block Episode" "Acknowledgement" and "Blue Skies Sunshine" and "Alphabet Soup"
Guest Choken One Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Go Old School and WASH AWAY your sins of admiting you like 50.
Guest Nightscrawler Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 50's alright, there are better hip-hop artists than him, but he makes good club songs, and has good beats (thanks to Dre).
Guest Choken One Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 50 CAN'T rap his way out of an paper bag... The beats are what made him so damn popular...
Guest ant_7000 Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 ^ Mixtapes made him popular not Em or Dre, if you like 50 I suggest get a couple songs from "Guess Who's Back" album or G-Unit Mixtapes which I thought both was better than Get Rich or Die tryin. Some songs from Talib Kweli's "Quality" album or Neva Scared remix just Busta's verse. Outkast "she lays on my lap" in str8. What kind of stuff are you looking for in particular? Conscious, club/crunk, or gangsta?
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Stay away from 99% of today's mainstream rap and kick it underground. - Planet Asia - Non Phixion - Necro - Ill Bill - Taleb Kweli - RDJ2 - Choclair - Kardinal Offishal The above rappers do more then sing about who has the biggest dick, most money and tightest rhymes.
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Choclair and Kardinal Offishal? Oh god no. Those guys are just AWFUL. Stay away from them.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Gang Starr - "1/2 & 1/2" Insane Clown Posse - "Pass Me By" (don't listen to the haters, this song is GOOD) Ice Cube & Dr. Dre - "Natural Born Killaz" And the creme de la creme... ILL MITCH - "TURN IT UP"

Guest Lord of The Curry Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Choclair and Kardinal Offishal? Oh god no. Those guys are just AWFUL. Stay away from them. Pfffffff. BC Bizznatch hatin' on the T-Dot rappers. What you got? Rascalz? Yeah right. Kardinal and Choclair are members of The T-Dot Hip Hiop Mafia and you can't hate on that.
Guest godthedog Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 if you're a white dude i recommend dipping your toe in the water with the beastie boys. preferably "hey ladies" or "gratitude."
Guest redbaron51 Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 get some Nelly, Eminem, P. Diddy, Ja Rule...and you be the toughest gansta out there... in seriously, Run DMC, Nas, Public Enemy, NWA, Jurassic 5, and its all good.
Guest Adrian 3:16 Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Here's some more albums not yet mentioned you should check for: Wu-Tang Clan- 36 Chambers, Wu-Tang Forever Nas- Illmatic, It Was Written Jay-Z- Reasonable Doubt 2Pac- Me Against the World, All Eyez On Me Raekwon- Only Built 4 Cuban Linx GZA- Liquid Swords Ghostface Killah- Ironman, Supreme Clientele Mobb Deep- The Infamous Big Punisher- Capital Punishment If you're a hip-hop fan already you should already know these, but your question was a little vague. There some of my favorites though if you've never heard them. You can thank me later. If you're just downloading individual songs and you want some old 50 Cent shit, get "Ghetto Quaran", "I'm a Hustler", "The Good Die Young" and "How to Rob" (the song that got his foot in the door, and still his funniest to date).
Guest shlidgn90 Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 i know most "rap" fans hate this guy because of ll cool j and eminem but give a listen to some canibus. specifically the mic club album. another album worth listening to is chino xl's i told you so.
Guest BAR Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 I haven't listened to rap in years but there's one rap album that's always stuck with me: Doggystyle. Yeah, you've probably already got it. But, if you haven't, get it!
Guest razazteca Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 Look for and buy if you can DJ RECTANGLE mixtapes, he is the best and does not do the annoying shoutouts or interrupts songs trying to be an MC. The latest release is 1200s Never Die in it DJ Rectangle mocks and attacks mixtape djs who screw up "exclusive" tracks.
Guest Nightscrawler Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Can anyone tell me what are some good Roots songs to get?
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 I'm only really familiar with their latest album, so I'll give you a few tracks off that: "The Seed (2.0)" "Water" "Sacrifice" "Rock You" That ought to give you a taste of what they do.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 The Seed 2.0 is not only the best song currently getting radio play, but is one of my favorite songs of all time. It's so fantastic.
