This includes the driver disc, an OCR program to scan and edit text documents, and a basic photo editor. It's up to you if you want to put a better photo program like Photoshop on it. For $100-150, you can get a perfectly good scanner for use in the home. HP, Visioneer, and (surprisingly, since their priters blow) Canon make good scanners.
