Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 22, 2003 I probably will. At least for the pilot because the show is supposed to feature some pretty disturbing stuff.

Guest Ripper Report post Posted July 22, 2003 From the commercials, they were really trying to sell it on the sex, tig ol fake bitties and blood squirting around. That ain't the makings of a good show.
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted July 22, 2003 my local TV critic says it sucks, so I'll pass
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 22, 2003 When is it going to air? Tonight at 10 I believe.
Guest Crucifixio Jones Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I liked it for what it was. I don't think it's gonna be the next The Shield, but it was interesting. But then again, alot of shows go on and find their groove later and this was just the series premiere/pilot, so it may get really good later.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I thought it was a really unique show. I'll reserve judgment until I see some more episodes. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Oh, and that guys tattoo job was SWEET.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I liked it. The show focused more on character development than the actual plastic surgery. As a fan of gory medical stuff that was kind of a let down, but the character's interaction with one another made up for it. I would have liked it better if they let Julian McMahon play his original character for a while and then down the road softened him up because I was really into him before the attack. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Seems like after the Shield FX is going ouit of their way to make "edgy" tv
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 23, 2003 The show was billed as edgy and came with an MA-LSV rating, but I didn't think it was over the line. The T&A was on the level of what we see on Raw and SmackDown. The language didn't seem too bad, but I've become completely desensitized to obscene language and gestures, so maybe I didn't notice it. The violence wasn't horrible, unless you are someone who gets squeamish after seeing injections, especially in areas that shouldn't be getting a colagen injection. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 The scene where they were cutting up the child molester guy during surgery was a little cringe worthy. It was an okay show. I might actually catch the next episode.
Guest Crucifixio Jones Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I agree that they put alot of things into the pilot that could've waited until way down the road. The blowup between the two partners shouldn't happen in the first episode. Ditto for the problems with his wife, kid, etc. All of these are things that should be built slowly and foreshadowed and then drop them on us to end the season. I'm wondering where they even go from here. They pretty much covered like 5-6 really good storylines/plots/ideas in the freakin' pilot.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Maybe it will be like The Shield where they blow your mind every episode and you keep wanting more. Or it will suck major ass.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 23, 2003 For those of you who watched yesterday, remember when the child molester said that he checked out their website and found out that his surgery would cost $20,000? Now YOU too can see how much your ideal plastic surgery would cost HERE.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted July 24, 2003 I liked this show. And I think it has the potential to be FX's new "Shield". Not necessarily in terms of quality, mind you, but I think this does have the potential to become a signature show for them, as "Shield" has become.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 24, 2003 The show actually got pretty good ratings. LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - FX's new boundary-smashing drama "Nip/Tuck" augmented the network's regular Tuesday night ratings, drawing a 3.2 household rating and over 3.7 million viewers in its July 22 debut. The plastic surgery program was the night's most watched cable program and is the top new series cable premiere of 2003. Overall, the "Nip/Tuck" opening incision ranks as the fifth most watched basic cable premiere in history. USA's "The Dead Zone" attracted 6.4 million deadheads when it first bowed, followed by another FX original, "The Shield," with had 4.8 million viewers when it first walked the beat. The first runs of USA's "Monk" and E!'s "The Anna Nicole Show" were the only other shows to do better than the Dylan Walsh/Julian McMahon starrer. "Clearly there is a tremendous amount of buzz about Nip/Tuck and we're excited about the ratings, the show's distinctive quality and its profile for network's brand," says Peter Liguori, the FX Networks president and CEO. "To now have two of the top five most watched series premieres ever on basic cable with 'Nip/Tuck' and 'The Shield' says a lot about the strides FX has made over the last two years."
