It’s my opinion……I could be wrong…..

In this edition of my spanking new column I would like to address the newest member of the WWE/OVW family in Paul London. I think the signing of London is an obvious choice for any federation, let alone the WWE. I also want to clear up this before I get bashed for saying it. I am GLAD Paul is going to be making a steady salary and he definitely deserves it. I have also been told that going to the WWE was one of London’s goals and dreams to achieve in his pro wrestling career. None of this I have a problem with. I will have a problem when Paul finally arrives to the main WWE roster though. Vince has made it steadily clear that he doesn’t want to spend time developing talent, especially because “They won’t be the next Rock”. His words, not mine. Now, understanding this comment why the hell would you sign a wrestler like London? Sure in my eyes, he has the moveset (which he will not be able to use), the athleticism, and the charisma. Now that has been established, what will they do with him? Jobber on Velocity you say….correct. Hell, they didn’t have to sign him for him to do that. He has already been a jobber on Velocity anyway. I honestly think he could be used very well in the Cruiserweight division, but where will he go once he outgrows that? Plus, besides Mysterio there has been no cruiserweight even given the time of day from the booking team. But my main problem with all of this (which is definitely selfish) is that the fans will no longer see the amazing matches this man has put on again. Now I am not bashing the wrestlers that the WWE has, but do you really think they would give a London/Mysterio match 30 to 35 minutes? I honestly hope nobody out there is that stupid. In closing though, I would personally like to wish Paul London good luck and say thanks for all of the classics he put on. His hard work and determination have made ROH a hell of a promotion for years to come. Hopefully the WWE can recognize that maybe he could help change their business too……if given the opportunity. And remember everybody this is just my opinion…….I could be wrong.
