PITTSBURGH -- Brian Giles was traded by the Pirates to the San Diego Padres on Tuesday in a long-rumored deal that sends left-hander Oliver Perez, outfielder Jason Bay and a player to be named to Pittsburgh. It's still crazy to me that the Royals of all teams are in a buyer's mode this time of year. I'm sure this will help them, though I think they could use some relief help more than anything.
