Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Now there was talk about how great Eddy is because he's a heel yet is still over huge. He's over huge as a face, mind you. That's one flaw that the Smackdown bitchers forgot to point out. I would certainly think better of him if he was over as a heel but he's over as a face when he's supposed to be a heel. The problem is, WWE has booked him as his usual cocky heel self after having him turn on Tajiri, yet Eddy still plays to the crowd as a face. I don't see this as WWE not giving fans what they want or the fans being dumb, but as Eddy playing his role wrong. I can't deny that he is over. I think they should just have drifted away or turned Tajiri heel if Eddy was over as a face but WWE did what they thought would be best (and admit, alot of people including me were glad to see he was back to being a heel). Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I still don't think he is even a heel... Just another shades of grey character...
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 WWE clearly intended to make him a heel. You don't act like a prick and turn on your friend who everyone likes and still be thought of as a good guy.

Guest Korgath Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Eddie's gone from strength to strength since his return from the depths of hell. Give the guy the break he deserves. If he's over with the fans, all the better. You've got a heel who can get the fans interested in any upcoming babyface.

I should give him a break because he's a recovering alcoholic? You have to be an alky first before you recover. If Eddy's supposed to be a heel and is acting like a face he isn't going to get any faces over other than himself.

The whole inceident was used to further his 'lie, cheat, steal' persona and it worked. He also didn't turn on his friend, he snapped because he was worried about his car. He even apologized the week after. Eddy is a face.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Yeah it was a total face promo. I think I WAS GETTING AT THAT IN THE FIRST POST. He was booked to be a heel. Plenty of people have turned on their friends and apologized but not in a sincere tone to put over their heelness, most likely Curt Hennig.
