Calif. Gov. Davis Will Face Recall Vote

Am I hearing that Kemp has been asked to run?

 

Oh, and as a Washingtonian, I have to say that D.C. in general has terrible roads.

Kemp confirmed over the weekend that he will not run. I'll have to find the source, but I'm positive that I heard that.

30 million is sort of a drop in the bucket compared to Davis' 35 BILLION deficit isn't it?

The problem is that the state won't be paying for this. The counties will.

 

Also, I made my mind that I'll just vote NO on the recall vote. Why? I promised myself last time that I would never vote to put Davis in office. I kept that promise and chose to vote for a picked at random third party on the ballot.

 

This vote isn't about putting Davis in office.

It's about putting Davis OUT of office. And in that respect, maybe Marney's talk about how recalls sweeping the nation would be a Bad Thing got to me, or maybe I just know the next gov will be a lame duck, but I can't vote in good concience for this either.

 

 

Besides, if the recall fails and Davis stays in office, it will be the biggest embarassment in history for California republicans, and be a kinda nice black eye on the party nationally as well. They probably won't be taken seriously here for 10 years or so. That's a pretty nice bonus.

And it seems that the yes/no question is pretty split. Looking for the poll that I saw this morning reporting that 51% support the recall.
