Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted July 25, 2003 So, I was online as recently as a few hours ago, when my mouse began fucking up (slow reaction times, stalling, generally being a pain). I decided to turn off the computer a while, to see if that'd fix things, but once I came upon the log-in screen for different desktops, there was an error which said that the mouse wasn't found. In addition, I went to the mouse option under Control Panel, but all I discovered is that some pointer icons under one of the schemes were either missing or corrupt. I looked online, to see if anyone else had the problem, and they have. From there I went to the Windows site, to try their solution, but it didn't work (and that entailed Safe Mode > Control Panel > System > Device Manger > USB Controller for anyone curious). Anyone have any suggestions? For reference, I'm on Windows '98, and am using the original mouse which came with the comp (a Compaq Presario 2256).
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted July 25, 2003 When I entailed this problem with the old Compaq Presario I owned years back, I figured that it was time for a new mouse. After said replacement, I didn't have any problems, at least with the mouse.
