Guest Dace59 Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Longest ever match was the HBK/Bert Ironman that went into overtime. I know nearly all Japanese matches have a 1 hour limit at the top end. Dont know if they have been any hour + none stop tourament matches.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted March 31, 2002 The Canadians vs. Two-Man Power Trip was only about 12-15. Austin/Benoit from Edmonton live was about 23 and about 20 on TV. TLC3 was about 21 minutes on TV. Benoit/Bret on Nitro was about 30 live I believe and 24 on TV.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I think he meant on TV Dace. Not PPV.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Me and Tony were talking about this in the Old School folder. We have came up with Sting-Flair (93) which was 35+ on WCWSN and Steamboat-Flair (94) was about 40 on WCW SN.

I so totally wish I watched wrestling back in 93-94...even though I'm 15 now and would pray for this on TV, I would be like 8 and probably be bored with it, lol. Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted March 31, 2002 BretHart4Ever, the site in my sig. has a 6 hour comp tape with the Sting-Flair match and a TON of other stuff from the Summer of 93. I think it is tape 123 on that site.
Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Shawn Micheals and Marty Jannetty probably had the longest match in the history of Monday Night wrestling way back in Raw's first year. The show was only an hour back then and their match lasted a good 40+ minutes IIRC. If we are talking on free TV. Flair went 45 minutes with Sting at Clash 1, 55 with Steamboat in New Orleans and 30+ with Scott Steiner and Bobby Eaton.
Guest Daredevil21 Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Although there aren't any in particular that stand out, the feature match on Monday Night RAW for the first couple of years, always lasted at least 15 minutes, with many of them going over the 20 minute mark. I think old school NWA/WCW has them beat though, as they seem to have put on some very lengthy TV matches in their time. Hey Cubano, are you talking about the one where Jannetty won the IC title or the rematch some months later? I just made a post about the rematch and I think that one lasted near 40 minutes if you count the time in between when they did the whole instant replay thing and restarted the match. It had gone about 20 minutes when Jannetty won the match and then I think it went another 10 or 15 minutes after they restarted it. Either way, both matches were great.
