I would go see it, but it has Toby McGuire in it. So this movie shall not get my $7.45

The reviews have been very good. Except for the local critic. Who thought it didn't live up to the book, and the story wasn't enough about the Horse itself.

I'm glad it wasn't about the horse. The characters surrounding Seabiscuit are what makes it an interesting story. The movie was great and I certainly would recommend it over sludge like Tomb Raider or Bad Boys II.

My main problem was that Red Pollard was too much of a whiny bitch in the film, and that they didn't put over his friendship with George Woolf too well (Pollard seemed more jealous of him than friendly). Both Cooper & Bridges deliver Oscar worthy performances, and Gary Stevens suprisingly (at least to me) gives a better performance than McGuire.

I will need more time to determine whether Seabiscuit or Reloaded is the movie of the summer, but everybody should certainly see it.

Actually, the Friday estimates have Spy Kids 3D beating Tomb Raider 2.

I have no fucking clue how that happened.

C'mon, that's easy to figure. The first Tomb Raider film did big business, but wasn't really that well liked and did very little repeat business. The sequel is going the same way of the Charlie Angel's sequel. On the other hand, the first two Spy Kids films did big business AND were well liked as quality family films.

I would have released Seabiscuit closer to the fall, but it's getting good buzz and reviews and word of mouth should be decent. I might go see it next week.

Love to know how the reviewer expected them to pull THAT off!

What, it'd be like Dr. Doolittle or something?

Show Seabiscut in the stable romancing a young Philly?

The only way I would see this is if at some point Tobey dons the Spider-Man costume and does all of the races with it on.

I loved Pleasantville, so it'll be at least a rental for me.

Does it end with Seabiscuit at a Japanese dinner table, because that's what really happened, or does it conveniently ignore the good part?

Where did that come from?

It is unknown whatever happened to his body so who knows (officially he is buried next to his owner in some unknown plot)
