Guest The Czech Republic Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 I'm fucking Lost. TCR...any meaning to this? Yeah, I heard several people today pronounce the S in Illinois and it drove me nuts. I think there should be a law allowing a rock of medium weight to be thrown at the head of any person pronouncing the S in Illinois. No penalty shall be given to the thrower of the rock. PS: The White Sox are always left out because they suck.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 And you can put it on the board~! YEEEEEESSSSS!

Guest Choken One Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 Are any other states mis-pronounced? Delaware supposed to be Delewere?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 Maryland is mispronounced.. Its more like Marriland instead of Merryland or Maryland...
Guest The Czech Republic Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 Marvin, in the great film "1776," the members of the Second Continental Congress refer to "Merry-Land" in such a way. I presume that's an archaic form and has been since replaced?
Guest Vern Gagne Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 For some reason people say Missoura, and Wesconsin,

Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 For some reason people say Missoura, and Wesconsin, Isn't Missoura the correct way to say it though?
Guest The Czech Republic Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 Missourians like Ashcroft say Missoura. Everyone else says Missouri. As for the idiosyncrasies to be found in "Wesconsin," that's a whole thread in itself.
