ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 [NOTE: The opinions expressed here are made from someone who has been up for 18 hours, and got done an 8 hour shift in Atlantic City at his job. If thoughts sound confusing in this post, that's why.] OK...I know many of you are now enjoying the Roster Split/Brand Extension (pick which name you like better)...saying it gets some people TV Time... But with them cutting back some stars here and there...it's probably not going to last much longer. I'm just speculating, no honest news sources by this. Now...let's say at WrestleMania 20 (or the night after, whatever) they decided to end the seperation. Problem in our eyes: people who have gotten TV time during the Extension/Split (Cena, Guerreros, Hurricane, Cruiserweights, Et All) would not get as much time. Personally though, i had an idea of how it could be booked properly...if Vince was willing to put his ego aside. Or...say, if Shane McMahon took over and stayed off TV like he does currently. First off...Velocity and Heat would become like Superstars and Raw were back in the day...they would build up stars, keeping heat on them...by beating up "developmental talent" (read: Jobbers). Well, like they are now...but they'd be promoted more. On Raw and Smackdown, talk about stars debuting on said shows and such. Since, with the end of the split, the rosters would be re-unified, you could have a chance to make stronger divisions. Hurricane could go back to the cruiserweights...and since he's hung with the big guys for a while now on Raw, he could give a bit more credibility to the division (side note: kinda funny a guy with a goofy gimmick could give a division credibility, huh?). Have up and coming cruiserweights on Velocity. Also...end recaps on Velocity and Heat. That's what Bottom Line and Afterburn are for, aren't they? WHY do we need them on shows with matches? For World Title contenders...well, first off...give HHH a feud OUTSIDE the World Title. Just for the record...by World Title, I mean when, if the extension ends, the World Title and the WWE Title are unified...making the WWE World Title. Brock Lesnar, if built properly, could be a megastar. He's only 24 (I think that's right) right now...so he has YEARS ahead of him. If worked on in the charisma department a TINY bit more, he could take the company by storm...being a figurehead like Hogan was in Rock and Wrestling and Austin was in the Attitude Era. Intercontinental Division could be used for better names. Same with the US Title (incidentally...IC Title = low main event/high mid card, while US title = mid-low Mid Card). This could further bring a good amount of credible future contenders for the World Title down the road. Women's matches: Have the women built up more on Heat. Less fear of multiple women's feuds. However, keep Torrie Wilson, Jackie Gayda, and Linda Miles in Valet mode. Nidia...well, I liked the Nidia/Molly match I saw on Smackdown last year, so she could be there. Less televised title matches are good. Here me out...the champion is special. He earned the right to be called champion...he needs to be treated like it's a bonus to have him on the show. And if he is on the show...make it more non-title matches to build him up. Title matches should be saved mostly for a Pay Per View...and maybe a smattering of defenses in between. Pay Per Views should be lessened. Think about it...the only reason WWF went to monthly Pay Per Views is because WCW was doing it. I personally perfered 5 Pay Per Views a year...but I could see 6 working. January would be Royal Rumble, March or April would be WrestleMania, since King of the Ring seems to be dead, June could be anything (Bad Blood, Vengeance, Backlash...any one works). August could be Summerslam. Early October could be another PPV, and late November would be Survivor Series. That way, more time to build matches and feuds, ability to give some stars more time, and make Pay Per View events seem more important. Also, as stated once before, there should be a ranking system for the WWE. In the singles division, WWE World Champion of course would be the top guy by the rankings...then there'd be a seperate one for Cruiserweight, Women's, and Tag Team rankings. The IC and US titles could improve someone's rankings...providing they win matches with the championship (in other words, not like Christian's run with the title). As for who I'd have with the belts when we started? WWE World Champion: Brock Lesnar (sorry, I like the guy. He could beat either Helmsley or Goldberg for the World Title) WWE Intercontinental Champion: Since the split would have ended...I'd say Matt Hardy could be a very interesting Intercontinental Champion. He possibly could have a better reign with the title than his brother did. WWE United States Champion: A good, solid heel would be good here. Mid to low mid card...give Goldust a chance to redeem himself, reviving his heel act. WWE World Tag Team Champions: Either The World's Greatest Tag Team, or an up and coming team that never got a chance at the gold. WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Hmm...there are a few good choices. Rey Mysterio, Hurricane...or if they built him up enough, I could possibly see Spanky as champion. Hell, maybe even Randy Orton, saying he cut weight. WWE Women's Champion: A good heel woman's champion can be interesting. Molly Holly all the way! Comments, suggestions? EDIT: Oh, and like mentioned in the other thread...cut down the damn backstage vignettes!

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Bring the Hardcore title back!! WOOT WOOT Oh god no. The Hardcore Title name is forever dregged as a comedy title. It was brought in as a gag...was forever a gag... Now...not to say I don't like Hardcore Wrestling. But don't bring back the Hardcore Title. Make a title where it's defended under ECW Rules (No DQ, no Count Out, no Time Limit). Call it...the Extreme Title. Tommy Dreamer can be the first champion after a grueling and bloody tournament. Guest Insane Bump Machine Report post Posted July 27, 2003 There shouldn't be an extra title for hardcore wrestling. If two or more wrestler are feuding and they just want to beat the living hell out of each other without caring about the rules, book a hardcore match. No need for a belt. Why have an extra title for everything? CW and Women's title make sense because CWs or Women fighting competitive against Heavies wouldn't make sense. But every wrestler can take part in a hardcore match, you don't need to create a special division for that. There could be Hardcore matches for the World Title. Hell, they do that anyway. They're just called Street Fights then.

Though...Street Fights are more like ECW Rules matches than Hardcore Matches, because there are no Falls Count Anywhere rules.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 27, 2003 The "fewer PPVs" idea is one I've been hoping for for years. It's not happening since Vince is too greedy. I agree on most points. You'd have plenty of time for the up-and-coming wrestlers if you cut out all the stupid recaps and feuds with non-wrestlers involved. One every once in a while, if it makes sense, is okay. However, the idea has worn out its welcome years ago. An IC and US title is unnecessary. Kill one or the other, maybe with a good unification feud. No more nostalgia acts, PLEASE. Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 27, 2003 HHH will stay the champion, forever. IC champion will be Booker T US champion will be Eddie Guerrero Randy Orton & Billy Gunn would be tag team champions. And the people on Raw you would think would of been given more time got a short one month push then disappeared to nothingness as usual, in their place the green rookies have taken over. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 HHH will stay the champion, forever. That's impossible. He has to die SOMETIME.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Both of the HHH boys are lifer restlers, they will be around until they can't walk anymore and even then they would prolly move to the announcer booth. Hogan & Hunter will be the new announcer team in 2004.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted July 27, 2003 The "fewer PPVs" idea is one I've been hoping for for years. It's not happening since Vince is too greedy. Well, if Vince is already being given an extra month to book to Vengeance (with the SD! crew) and Summerslam (with the RAW crew), and still doesn't feel the need to capitalize on the extra build-up, I'll have to disagree with you. And regardless of this, buyrates are still decent on the smaller PPV's (Backlash, Unforgiven, No Mercy, Judgment Day). There's no need to eliminate them. Guest JMA Report post Posted July 27, 2003 If I was booking the end of the roster split the first thing I'd do is "Russo-ize" Triple H. You know, have someone lay down for him, let him win, fire him, and call the belt he won the "Triple H Memorial" title. With that taken care of the new WWE Undisputed champion would be Brock Lesnar or Kurt Angle. I would start a new era, beginning with letting old guys and bad workers go. Here are the belts I would keep: The Undisputed Championship/Smackdown's World title. The Intercontinental Championship The Tag Team Championship/Smackdown's Tag titles. That's it. The Women's title would be vacated until there are at LEAST twenty credible female wrestlers.

Bleh...not another vacating of the Women's title. We've had that too many times in WWF/E history (Rockin' Robin, Alundra Blayze, Chyna) I just say work slowly with what you have, and slowly hire more women.
