Guest The Mountie Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I would have to say the Austin vs Dude match from Over The Edge is one for sure. The feud made perfect sense at the time and elevated both men. The match was gripping, the addition of McMahon, Brisco and Patterson made Austin the firm underdog favourite and the way in which he pinned Dude by with the count from “my hand only” (to quote Vinnie Mac) was a brilliant, original and ironic finish. The match also set the table for Austin/Taker at SummerSlam without turning either man heel and gave Mick Foley a reason to revert to his Mankind persona (resulting in the infamous Hell In A Cell match at KOTR), Vince more reasons to hate the Rattlesnake and an air of excitement and unpredictability for the shows that followed. This match made Austin seem almost as invincible as Hulk Hogan was in his prime and I think was a true slice of booking perfection. If only today’s booking team could reach such high standards. Say what you like about Vince Russo’s WCW stint but in the WWF he was gold.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted March 31, 2002 I would have to say the most recent match with perfect booking had to be Rock-Hogan although the ambulance thing was a pretty bad build to the match.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Owen/Bret from 1993-1996 was booked excellent. Even though the fued died out in 1995, it was still rememebrd when Bret returned in 1996. Too bad WMXII wasnt Owen/bRet, Owen coulda returned the WM job.
Guest jaCko Report post Posted April 1, 2002 I agree, the buildup and booking of Summerslam 1998 was pretty damn good. You had the Undertaker and Austin in an alliance of sort, that began around Over the Edge, Take inadvertantly (?) costing Austin the title at King of the Ring, the Russo tried and tested tag team champions who distrust each other, and finally Taker being revealed in cahoots with Kane. Plus the undercard was well built up with Owen/HHH and Rock/Shamrock from Wrestlemania being interchanged to HHH/Rock and Owen/Shamrock due to Rock becoming an actual enemy of HHH instead of just helping out Owen and vice versa. Guest Jay Report post Posted April 1, 2002 The Savage'Warrior match from SummerSlam 92 had perfect booking, as did the Bulldog/Hart match from the same event.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 2, 2002 The Flair/Savage/Liz love triangle was the most perfectly booked piece of work I have ever seen. Right down to Savage winning the title at Wrestlemania 8.
Guest lowavenue Report post Posted April 2, 2002 King of the Ring 1995 was booked to perfection.

Guest Tony149 Report post Posted April 2, 2002 Flair/Funk, Flair/Savage, Austin/McMahon & SCSA/Taker (Summerslam '98) all were booked pretty damn good in my opinion.
