I didn't watch much but my friend is saying Nash came back and hugged HHH and Shawn and then HHH said Nash was a great guy but he had to turn on him. All I remember is Nash's return vaguely and then them fighting each other in some form for three PPV's. How did HHH turn on Nash?

HHH gave the its him or me speech to Nash, then I think all three of them were just standing around and HHH nut shot him before Nash even decided between HHH and HBK.

Yes, but keep in mind HHH gave him ample (in his mind) time to decide and he just chose not to. It wasn't in the same promo or anything.
