Did anybody notice this...

During a portion of the match, and in fact during the standing ovation, a number of people were booing Gowan. WO mentioned this, and I thought it was kind of funny.

Personally, I hated the match, since they spent so long building to it (Mr. America started after Backlash) and it was just Vince standing around for 10 minutes beating up a young wrestler.

I can not believe Vince went over, that kid will never get a clean win over him. Clearly shows that Vince would rather push himself over new, young talent. As much as I can't stand Gowen, that was BS.

I wonder if this is Vince's way of saying "Ok, we've got everything we want out of you, time to bury you and ship you off."

No, it was Vince doing the "if this show does a great buyrate then we'll do the rematch, if it doesn't oh well"

I'm glad Vince won. Even I could kick Zack Gowan's ass, and if I can beat a wrestler's ass, then he shouldn't be beating Vince McMahon, let alone The Big Show.

I'd love to see Zack Gowan in MMA.

So what if concevably, you could beat him? He's on the show, he's supposed to be a wrestler, there's no excuse for McMahon to win. How the hell is Gowen supposed to be taken as seriously as he could have been ever? Sure, he's a novelty wrestler, and will always be the underdog, but if he can't beat Vince McMahon of all people, he'll never win.

What's the point of watching a guy who can't win? It'll be a heavily promoted jobber match. And what if someone does lose to Gowen, how freaking bad do they look now?

Maybe Gowen's days are numbered...

IMO, Zack should NEVER win a match cleanly. The crowd will never buy him as a serious contender, and they will never buy him beating a two legged wrestler without outside assistance. It would do the guy getting beat more harm than it would Zack good.

They would look bad losing to a guy with one leg anyway.

Ok, two things. First, Vince is a former WWE champion. He is a former Royal Rumble winner. He's headlined multiple PPVs. He is ripped out of mind. There is nothing wrong with him beating a one-legged guy.

Also, this is just me, but I was wondering. Does anyone else think it's possible that Zach was booked to win the match before he made a gigantic hole in the side of Vince's head. Even if it wasn't his fault, I could totally see Vince getting pissed off and changing the finish.

Was I the only dude on the internet who noticed the blood packet Vince smashed into the side of his head as he recoiled from the VanZachinator?

Or was that just a reflex grabbing of his head from getting nailed so hard?

Everyone remember, Gowen was signed (I think) when Heyman was still writing Smackdown. Maybe Heyman intended to build him up as some kind of bad ass and not a sympathy peice. I dunno, but its something to think about. A one legged heel, that would rule.

Definitely not a capsule. There was just too much blood and it was flowing for way too long.

A bladejob if done in haste and poorly executed is possible.

My vote goes to hard way.

If by "rule" you mean "suck."

Zach has had him moment in the sun. He's lived his dream. Now get the fuck off my tv because you make me sick and you can't suspend my belief.

you know this is Vince's way to get back at his Father for not letting him be a wrestler when he was a Kid.

now he is wrestling old men and cripple kids..

Vince shouldnt even be taken seriously as a "Wrestler" Because he's NOT really a wrestler. he might be built but that doesn't mean anything...the closest wrestler out of the McMahons have got to be Shane.

These were all complete travesties and should have never happened in the first place anyways. Vince fucking McMahon is not an f'n wrestler.

Well, I thought the stuff he did in early '99 at least, worked really well. When he won the Rumble and faced Austin in the cage match at St. Valentine's Day Massacre, that was great. The title might have been overkill I guess.

Anyway, that doesn't change the fact that for suspension of disbelief, it was good for him to beat Gowen. Zach really doesn't belong in the WWE.

And Vince doesn't belong in it as a wrestler either. Hell Vince doesn't even belong on the TV show. Hell Zach belongs more than Vince. At least he's an actual wrestler instead of an old man that is going through a mid-life crisis and thinks he's the hottest thing on the show.

The only thing I'm worried about is that Vengeance is most DEFINITELY getting a high buyrate and Vinny might think it's because of his "blow-off" match with Zach.

I'm trying to figure out internally if I have more of a problem with the one leg or the fact that Zach has less muscle definition than Sable.

I don't know about the gimmick of one-legged heel ruling, but it looks like Gowen could be a good heel. If they built him up as a heel, say by making him start bitching about his leg, I think he could be relatively successful, but not bad-ass. I see him more as a whiner searching for sympathy. I wouldn't describe it as either "rule" or "suck". It would have to be somewhere in the middle, like "amusing". However, he would have to be mid-card at best. This crap about putting him at the top of the card has to stop. Here's an idea: switch his place in the card with Ultimo.

Tenacious Z did manage to surprise me with incredible displays of balance (how to jump on the bottom rope and balance with one leg?) and left me with a few things to consider:

1. If he was rolled into a pin, would he be able to kick out?

2. He would be the perfect victim of Angle's ankle lock. He could not to the traditional roll-over-and-kick-Angle maneuver to get out of the hold.

Personally, muscle definition. He can move better than I would imagine a one-legged wrestler could, though that does not make him a good wrestler. (and, as stated above, the sympathy face has to end)

Vince should have went over. Gowen isn't staying in the main event picture and sadly Vince is, so that alone should have decided who went over.

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

Gowen jobbed to Shannon Moore at the Smackdown tapings last night

What does that tell you?

Next McMahon angle: he declares himself Intergender Champion and beats all the women on the roster.

Or maybe Austin could do that...
