Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 (edited) Pictures Thats just spiffy. Who wants to start taking bets now for when the field starts moving out with players on it? I got $5 that says the 2nd preseason game. EDIT: I guess its not a dome, but a retractable roof stadium, but honestly, how many games will they play in August/September/October with the dome open? Edited July 29, 2003 by MarvinisaLunatic
Guest HHH123007 Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Wow....I wanna see that thing when it's finally done. It took forever for them to pass it off here.
Rob E Dangerously Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 What's going to stop somebody from fucking up the field when it's outdoors like that?
Bored Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 What exactly is the purpose of it than a "wow that looks cool" effect? Anyways the stadium itself just looks like a replica Texas Stadium. I guess since there are more Cowboy fans than Cardinal fans in Arizona they figured they might as well make a stadium like the Cowboys have.
Guest alkeiper Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 As a long suffering fan I have to say it..... What's the point of having all those seats?
Guest redbaron51 Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 its a rip-off of one of the soccer stadiums in Japan that they used in the World Cup. But since Americans don't watch Soccer, they can call it original.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 New stadium for the Cards? Bleh. They should've moved to L.A., I moved them there on Madden.
Guest the pinjockey Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Brilliant way to waste a football field and the whole moving gizmo worth of parking spaces. Not that it really matters for the Cards.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 As a long suffering fan I have to say it..... What's the point of having all those seats? Maybe the visiting team would like some fan support -- they outnumber the Cardinal faithful. So the field moves? I'm confused. And how many times has it rained in Arizona? I guess this means no more TV shots of those people up on that mountain/ledge in recliners looking down at the game. Damn you Bidwell...
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 The Mets, when they were planning on building a retractable roof stadium (where ever they were building it) originally had this concept so that they could easily convert the stadium for concerts and other events without tearing the field up. Plus they could save money by rolling the playing surface out and letting it get natural sun and rain so it would be real grass instead of fake grass or a fake/real mixture.
Guest JustinCredible2k Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 The Cardinals may have a new stadium in the makings, but that still wont give them a playoff run.
Guest HHH123007 Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 That's because they are in the toughest division of the NFL.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 And they have crappy management...
