Guest papacita Report post Posted April 1, 2002 I don't even know why I'm doing this since nobody here probably even watches the show, and I barely watch it myself, but here goes: 2 weeks ago I had nothing better to do than to watch Excess, and they showed the entire match between The Kid and Razor from Raw in 1993. You know, the big upset. They showed the entire segment, and started off with Vince, Macho Man and the Brain refering to the Shawn Michaels interview where Marty Jannetty walked off the streets and challenged Shawn for the I-C Title later that night. Seeing as how that was probably my favorite match in Raw history, I naturally got on the net and sent an e-mail to the Vault requesting them to show that match next week (i.e. last night)...which they didn't. Not that I'm bitching about that, cuz I didn't watch it last night anyway, but I REALLY wanna see that match again. So I'm begging somebody, anybody to go to WWF.com, request this match from the Vault so when I miss the show next week, I'll actually have something to be pissed about! Thanx in advance. Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 1, 2002 The match from the Vault is fixed. I'd say it is "sorta" fixed. The letters they read, and the matches they play are indeed from actual fans requesting them from what I understand. But, I think the matches they DO pick, are picked on the basis of what will "sorta" go along with current storylines. Like, all of the WM matches they were playing leading to WMX8 and the Razor/Kid match they played after they got back together in the nWo.
Guest papacita Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Oh well. One more reason for me to hate the WWF.

Guest Report post Posted April 1, 2002 how do you know they are fixed? They showed the entire segment, and started off with Vince, Macho Man and the Brain refering to the Shawn Michaels interview where Marty Jannetty walked off the streets and challenged Shawn for the I-C Title later that night. Wait so Shawn and Marty did an interview together and Marty walked out and went into the streets to challenge Shawn to a match? Is that what happened? Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Sorry, I already requested the Bret/Backlund match from Superstars where Backlund snapped.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Wait so Shawn and Marty did an interview together and Marty walked out and went into the streets to challenge Shawn to a match? Is that what happened? The angle, as I recall, had Shawn saying he'd defend against anybody and Jannetty hopping the guardrail in "disguise" and asking for the shot. Michaels tried to back out untl McMahon goaded him into it. And thus Jannetty got a three week IC title reign. This episode established the "anything can happen on Raw" idea that last about six months (if that).
Guest Karnage Report post Posted April 1, 2002 The WWF fixes everything, including the fuckin' polls on their website. Yeah, the "Should Stephanie get another chance to return to Federation programming?" poll is so damn close.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted April 1, 2002 The Stephanie poll went from about 80-20 against a return to 65-35 a few hours before the poll closed (when I voted) to about 50-50 or so as the poll closed. Considering the amount of votes involved, SOMEONE was cooking the numbers. As for the Vault stuff, they tend to pick something connected with the storylines ESPECIALLY if it's a PPV week. If it's a 3-way dance, they'll show something like the KOTR 2001 main event. If it's a title match with a screwy finish that could possibly be overturned, they'll show a match with a finish similar to that either the week of the PPV or the week after (Ex- Around the Austin-Angle match at Unforgiven, they showed the Benoit-Sid match from Souled Out 2000 with the same ending)
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted April 1, 2002 (Ex- Around the Austin-Angle match at Unforgiven, they showed the Benoit-Sid match from Souled Out 2000 with the same ending) Wasn't that because Benoit was the guest?
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Pretty much everything the WWF does is fixed. From the Vault is no exception. If fans know enough wrestling histor to specifically ask to see certain matches, why would these matches constantly be the same matches that the WWF always highlights? In my opinion From the Vault sucks because instead of using the vast resources the WWF has, they would rather show matches from two years ago. I want some damn WCW matches on the show, but then again I don't ever watch it anyway.
Guest Andy Report post Posted April 1, 2002 I've only watched Excess enough times all the way through to see From The Vault twice. There was Bulldog vs Hitman from SummerSlam '92 (great match) and the crap Inferno match between Taker and Kane. Andy
