Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Yeah, we all know that the majority here hate certain guys, like Test, HHH, Nash, Hall, Hogan, Rikishi, The Big Show, etc... Well how about we hear from some of you guys what YOU would do to improve them? But keep it "realistic", we all know that the WWF isn't going to fire any one of these guys, so please don't respond with such tripe as "I'd fire them" or "I'd just job them all out to Benoit or someone else like that". Just, well... ...just tell us what you would do to simply improve them, to make them more "usefull" in your eyes, etc... All of these guys could potentially be "usefull" (I already think that the nWo and Hogan is usefull), so how would YOU guys make use of them all? Sincerely, ...Downhome... Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Ok, let me get this straight, you guys are willing to complain about guys, but NOT willing to share with us all what you would do to improve them?
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 1, 2002 well i'd send them to OVW or HWA to train AND so i didn't have to see them. i'm only saying that since you said we couldn't fire them.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Guys you listed: Test: He should learn how to work and get some charisma HHH: Make him drop 20lbs of muscle mass, adding that much weight while he was injured can't be good for a bad wheel and it has slowed him down (anyone else notice this? ) Nash: He can't improve Hall: Make him more Razor Ramon-ish Hogan: Have him be a little more agressive Rikishi: Bring back the Rikishi Driver The Big Show: Make him a bodyguard My list: RVD: force him to use psycholgy in his matches and spread his spots out, rather than hitting them all within a few minutes. Jericho: Change his look and make him work on his alwful puches and kicks Rock: Tell him to slow down and execute his moves properly (Sharpshooter, Samoan Drop, Belly to Belly, etc..) Austin: Needs to revert back to his 97 promo style. Angle: He really doesn't need to improve. Taker: Retirement, he doesn't have it anymore and hasn't since 97. Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Well, I don't hate too many of them, but I'll give it a go. Rikishi - When he was in the midcard, he was a great face. And not just because he was fat and because he danced. He also had a great moveset. Rikishi gets burnt out real fast, but my god, his sit out Fire Thunder Driver was BEAUTIFUL. Let him do that again. Let him do Samoan drops and superfly splashes and big belly-to-bellys again, and don't have him do the stinkface in eeeevery match. Please, god no. Let him work angles with some kinda over midcarders. Hell, he doesn't even need many feuds. Bring him out for a fun match against someone random, and just let him cut loose. He can do a lot if he's not limited by the bookers wanting him to be a sideshow. Big Show - not great in the ring, but always menacing, and really, really funny when given the ball. First off all, put him in jeans and a shirt, get him out of the singlet that makes him look fat and stupid. From there...uh...make him the big man in a stable, and let him get hot tags in tag matches. And do funny things. Yes. HHH - Well, he used to be awesome, no doubt about that, but he seems slowed down since the injury. Turn him heel, because his slowed-down pace will work better then anyway, and that's what he is at heart. Teach him how to do things that don't involve the knee. Hell, a suplex or powerbomb here or there could liven things up immensely. Test - Don't let him talk, ever, and have him wear pajamas, carry a stuffed animal, and then flip out on random people while calling himself "Testamajiggydo." He's neat, but boring. And stupid. The NWO - Let Nash and Hogan talk. They can promo beautifully. Get Nash back into the role he was in the dying days of WCW, essentially managing new guys. Working alongside some undercarders or developmentals will actually give them a bit of a starpower rub, and he fills the role well. Give Hall a case of Sam Adams and hope he takes care of himself. As for Hogan, same thing as Big Show: hot tags in tag matches, or midcard matches to pop the crowd and let some rising stars get the chance to work with a legend. Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted April 1, 2002 All Wrestlers - Show them footage of their Raw matches and point out how bad the brawling is getting and how many times the "stomping a mudhole" corner spot is getting overused. Preach the importance of making the brawling/chopping as crisp as possible. Make everybody working that night watch all of the other matches before theirs, so that we won't see three inside cradle finishes in one night. Triple H - I'd let him take a little bit of time away from the ring to lose some of that bulk and regain some of his speed. That, plus make him limit his interviews to 5-7 minutes - keep them straight and to the point, and then we might not think he's just a rambling fool. Hall - Let him be frickin' Scott Hall on the mic, no more overtly scripted promos - you brought in the nWo for their personality, so let 'em use it. Put the man in some cardio so that he can tweak up the speed just a little bit...that, and a zero tolerance policy for his various "habits." Rikishi - Show him some tapes from 2000 and remind him of when he had more than three moves in his moveset. Test - Set him aside with Arn Anderson so that maybe he'll get some tips about properly selling his opponent's offense. Have him do some work in the ring to work on transitions between signature moves as well. Nash - Like Hall, just let him go at it as himself on the mic...but limit his interview time as well. WCW-era Nash had a habit of milking his promo time much like Trips, and it wasn't always productive. All Tag Teams - Sit them down and make all of them develop a couple more "signature tag maneuvers". Personally, almost all of the tag team matches of the last year and a half have looked like four guys taking turns in singles matches. (This is an area where the Dudleys excel - maybe have them work with some of the other guys.) ...and that's about it. Most of the other character improvements should be laid in the writing team's lap.
Guest Risk Report post Posted April 1, 2002 Test-Send him to OVW till he improves. HHH-Take five more months off to lose that weight and recover. I say about twenty-five pounds. Nash-Manager Hall-Trainer Hogan-Retire...please retire. Rikishi-Put pants on. NO STINKFACE AT ALL. NO QUEER DANCING, EITHER. BRING BACK MOVESET. The Big Show-Name change, bodyguard. Guest buffybeast Report post Posted April 1, 2002 I like when Rikishi dances. But admit his character needs freshening up. Bringing back his moveset may help. Test- I don't hate Test like some. He doesn't need to come within 15 feet of a mic, ever. I would increase his moveset some, and work on getting his some charisma. The Big Show- the mutherfucker needs to lose weight. Period. Once he does this, he then needs to work on his speech and diction. Ever notice how saliva seems to build up in his mouth when he speaks? Yuck. HHH- I haven't had a big problem with his work since he's returned from the DL. But the extra muscle mass should probably be lost. Kevin Nash- sorry, can't think of anything worthwhile he brings to the table beyond mic skills. Unless WWF wants to renegotiate his contract for less money, then manage and talk for some of the younger guys is all he can do now. Hall- sorry, but he's nothing without Nash. His workrate is decent, but without the Nash/NWO association, he's just another 40+ year old midcarder. Hogan- for the love of God and all His children, just go the fuck away.
