Yes, NTSC is basically the type of electrical current the US uses.

PAL is Europe, Australia and some places in Japan although most of Japan is NTSC. You should be fine.

I was wondering what "NTSC" meant as well. It's on most of my Xbox games.

NTSC is the video standard that we use in the USA. It basically is just the term that sums up the refresh rate, frame rate, resolution, number of frames/fields, etc. for video standards. Like mentioned before PAL is the standard used in most of Europe. There are others like SECAM and other stuff, but basically if you live in North America, NTSC is all you need to worry about.

I hate to say it, but -most- if not all Region 0 releases are bootlegs. Avoid at all cost.

that doesn't mean there aren't commercial Region 0 DVDs.

Oh and to help you, there are Region 0 PAL adn Region 0 NTSC DVDs, in order for the disc to play on your PS2, it should be NTSC Region1 or 0

Yeah I have a Region 0 DVD, Haggard by Bam Margera. I've seen others labeled region 0 in stores too.

NTSC = National Television Standards Committee

Does PAL run at a slightly faster rate than NTSC?

Actually if memory serves PAL runs at a slower rate. NTSC has a refresh rate of 60 Hz (which is 30 interlaced frames per second) and I think pal is at 50 Hz which would be 25 fps.

I'd say 99.9% of all US porn DVDs are region-free, all region or region 0.
