Important IWA-MS news! Samurai TV/KOTDM stips

Recommended Posts

Several news items to report regarding King of the Death Matches 2003, which will take place this Friday & Saturday night, August 1st & 2nd at the IWA Arena (1390 Woerner Avenue) in Clarksville, IN.

* IWA Mid-South is proud to announce that we have come to an agreement with the Samurai TV 24 hour martial arts and wrestling channel in Japan. A crew from Samurai TV will be in for the weekend's events, and KOTDM will air during the coming weeks on Japanese television. IWA is honored to have Samurai TV on board, as they will provide the competitors involved in the tournament, and the promotion as a whole, with tremendous international exposure.

* Lowlife Louie has pulled himself out of the tournament due to schedule conflicts. Replacing Louie in the tournament will be Deranged, who participated in IWA's 2001 KOTDM tournament, as well as CZW's Extreme 8 this year.

* Several as of yet unannounced non-tournament bouts will take place over the course of the weekend. Included in these matches will be "Classic" Colt Cabana, Alex Shelley, Nigel McGuinness, and others.

* The stipulations for the first round matches in the tournament have been announced. They are...

IAN ROTTEN vs. MESSIAH - East Coast Thumbtack Death Match

CORPORAL ROBINSON vs. AXL ROTTEN - Fans Bring The Weapons

JC BAILEY vs. 2 TUFF TONY - Barbed Wire Tables & Electrified Light Tubes

BALLS MAHONEY vs. HORACE THE PSYCHOPATH - Barbed Wire Baseball Bat & Barbed Wire Boards

THE NECRO BUTCHER vs. "MR. INSANITY" TOBY KLEIN - Fans Bring The Weapons

DYSFUNCTION vs. NICK GAGE - Four Corners of Pain

"MEAN" MITCH PAGE vs. DERANGED - Taipei Death Match

MAD MAN PONDO vs. "SPYDER" NATE WEBB - High Impact Tables Match

Notes: The stipulations for the later rounds in the tournament will not be revealed until Saturday night... For clarification, the rules of the High Impact Tables Match is that the pin must take place after the opponent is put through a table following a maneuver off an elevated surface... Bell time Friday night will be 8pm Eastern, while Saturday night's card will begin at 7:30pm Eastern due to the number of matches which will take place... Tickets remain in the $20 & $18 seating areas, and will be available (while they last) at the door each night... In addition to Samurai TV, Smart Mark Video will still be filming all of the weekend's events... We will be holding a Q&A session, which will also be filmed by SMV for video release, on Saturday afternoon. Admission to the Q&A session will be $5 for those not a part of the east coast bus trip. Full information on where and when the Q&A will take place will be posted on the IWA message board on Thursday.
