Here's what I think could have been done with the "Noble's Inheritance" angle, given a little foresight and knowing McMahon's love for soap-opera angles:

 

Noble gets Aunt Lucille's money and starts living the high life.

 

Cousin Nunzio is visibly upset, with some innuendo thrown around that he and the F.B.I. whacked Aunt Lucille so that Nunzio could claim some of her mad cash.

 

Nunzio goes to Noble and asks for a cut, as a favor for "services rendered." Noble, living up to his name, understands what he means and denies him any of the cash.

 

Noble now lives in fear of the F.B.I., so much so that he uses a good chunk of his money to hire the A.P.A. to watch his back at all times. Since they don't like the F.B.I. much anyway, they accept. This leads to six-man matches, a tag feud between APA and Stamboli/Palumbo, and a big PPV blowoff between Noble and Nunzio, for the rest of the cash.

 

Nunzio wins the match through nefarious means, and demands that Noble hand over the money ASAP. At that moment, Nidia pulls into the arena in an obviously expensive car, bedecked with expensive guadiness, and wearing the most expensive-looking clothes you could think of. She reveals that she thought Nunzio would probably win, so she went out and SPENT all of the rest of Aunt Lucille's cash. "Oh, and here's your change, Nunzio," as she drops some coins on the ground.

 

Nunzio is POed, and so is Noble. Nunzio obviously because of getting screwed over, and Noble due to Nidia's lack of faith in his ability, as well as Nida's wasting of all the money. They realize that blood is thicker than money, and reconcile. Nidia moves on to someone else, and Noble rededicates himself to the one thing that brought in the most money besides Aunt Lucille--the Cruiserweight championship. He held the belt against all comers for an obscene amount of time in today's WWE before, and now, with Nunzio and the FBI's backing, he'd be unstoppable.

 

This would eventually lead to Noble winning the title back, and Nunzio's greed getting the better of his family ties again and demanding a title shot, but that's thinking too far ahead, especially for WWE.

But being the focal point of an angle and depicted in some form? Hasn't been done yet, so maybe it's fresh and edgy enough for Vince to use.
