Guest godthedog Report post Posted August 2, 2003 so i got paid yesterday, and was so happy with what i bought that i just HAD to start a thread about it. bob dylan, 'bringing it all back home'--$10 new. surprisingly enough, i'd never heard this album before. good stuff overall, though the live versions of "it's all over now" and "she belongs to me" are better. tom waits, 'blood money'--$12 new. also surprisingly, i'd never owned a single tom waits album. seems like an acquired taste, but all in all i was pleased. 'the miles davis collection, vol. 1'--$30 used. when i found this, i was literally quivering while it was in my hands. twelve sides of miles for thirty dollars. and not random compilation miles or mediocre album miles. i got 'sketches of spain', 'porgy and bess', 'miles ahead', 'kind of blue' and 'bitches brew', all in one set. it was a used copy, but the vinyl is flawless and doesn't look like it's ever been played, or even taken out of the box. and i bought a used copy of 'new adventures in hi fi' for $8, but it was on cd so it doesn't really count. Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 2, 2003 I was gonna be snide and say "You know they have these things called CDs now," but then I got to the bottom of your post. And that's one hell of a deal vis-a-vis Davis. Wow.
