I became aware that many of the people who lead "online lives" weren't exactly the most ethical or decent bunch out there long ago, so if it's false, then it's false. The person behind it is obviously starved for attention and a pretty lousy person for even pulling such a stunt, but what's us breaking out the pipe and Sherlock Holmes hat and play detective to prove that the person is a lying sack of shit going to do? Confirm what that person already knows to be true? I'm not taking death lightly, but I'm not going to go piecing together clues like Scooby and the gang in my Mystery Machine just to prove that some idiot on the Internet is seeking some attention from other faceless strangers. That's just me, so go ahead and play detective and get to the bottom of this mystery. More power to you, but in the end, I fail to see what it proves when this thread will be buried in a few days by a pile of threads featuring lame "feuds" between the likes of of Chuck E Cheese and Eagan and ones calling for the banning of someone else. When other people have posted that their family or friends have passed away posters haven't responded with such heavy cynicism. Unless you have an sort of emotional attachment to them, this should not affect you very much. On the other hand, if this is a hoax, once again, what does it matter? Barring a sudden and unexpected stroke or heart attack while sleeping, it probably wasn't. And if the both used the name, I wouldn't be at all shocked if the room mate took it upon himself to go come here (Where he and his friend posted) and try to alert any friends he may have made. I don't recall people doubting his claim, it's just those who disliked him used it as some sick way of making fun of him. But to be so downright cynical and claim that they are lying is even more tasteless then someone making a false claim. Yes, it is always a slim possibility that they are lying about the death, but one doesn't need to voice that opinion for the sake of being right if it does all become a hoax. This guy's poor flatmate just wanted to inform the people here that the poster had died and this scepticism here has been unwarranted. There have been threads in the past asking the question "What would happen if someone here died?" Obviously a family member can't inform the forum without being accused of being an attention seeker.
