Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Nike's version of Pro Wings
Guest Lightning Flik Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 ...wtf? You have to be kidding me. Seriously, how does this justify that deal Nike gave the kid? Those shoes are so ... so ... I'd hate to even call them boorish. They are pretty plain to me.
Guest Flyboy Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I saw them about a month ago at another forum... I surely wouldn't wear them. But, then you have to remember that that's only his first shoe.

Guest Downhome Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Was this it... ...I have no idea, I was just trying to find it to remember what it looked like.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Yeah, but the original were black, white and red. Those are alternate colors, as all the old J's are getting re-released.
Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 when are Kobe's shoes coming out? We Don't even know yet if Kobe gonna have a shoe.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I bet they raise the prices of Kobe's shoes get raised too. I mean, the consumers are already getting raped with the price being $130. No need to force people to pay more money.
Guest Downhome Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Maybe I'm just not "cool" enough to get it, but I've never understood why anyone would pay over $100 for a single pair of shoes.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 They're stupid, DH. Stupid and rich.
Guest Downhome Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 They're stupid, DH. Stupid and rich. You just might be on to something there.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I AM onto something. I sold the $199.99 Jordans to people. Anyone that can spend $212.99 on a pair of shoes is a fucking idiot.

Guest Choken One Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 $212? That not a lot of Money...but for shoes? You could blow it on worse though.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I bought my shoes from Jewel-Osco for 99 cents.

Guest Downhome Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I'll never understand it, it just seems like such a waste to me. Why would you pay over $100, much less over $200 for a pair of shoes, when you can get a pair that is just as comfortable at just the fraction of the cost? Are people really THAT obsessed with being brand-name whores? Still, you can get good brand name shoes for a fraction of the cost. If I was to buy a pair of Jordan or LeBron shoes and they cost me $100+, then one of the female friends of them best damn well come over and blow me. Or at least come with an autographed something-a-whatnot.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I work in a shoe store, and refuse to pay more than 50 bucks.

All comfortable shoes are usually ugly for the most part. Get a pair of shoes that look nice and are comfortable. EDIT: I would not pay $200 for a pair of shoes, however. $130? MAYBE.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 For 200 bucks, I shouldn't have to have one of their female friends come over, the damn shoe should blow me and fuckin swallow at that. Of course then I'd stand in my own seed anytime I wore them but whatever.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 those are ugly, not worse than shaq's first shoe though
Guest Crucifixio Jones Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I don't have a problem spending more than $100 on a pair of shoes (but most shoes I like, except on rare occasions, don't even approach that). But it's more for functionality than flossing. If you pay over $100 for basketball shoes and DON'T play basketball then you ARE stupid or I shouldn't say that...you just have the money to burn and like the shoe, then that's your prerogative. But for people that ball, the best shoes are gonna cost you the "best" money so to speak. You can't expect to be protected on the court or avoid injury when you're wearing cheap shoes, that's just facts. Yeah, That's true. I remember back in the day when Jordan first shoe came out, Everybody hated em'. LeBron's first shoe can't really be compared to the first Jordans. There's no reason for LeBron's shoe to be this plain with how far the technology has come. Jordan's shoes were hated, yes, but that's because it wasn't even an original design; it was a rip-off of Nike's Air Force line. But like the first Jordans maybe this line will succeed because of the name attached and the success he has and not so much what the shoe looks like. As far as what it looks like, I'm not impressed, either. What are shoe designers smoking nowadays? Nike hasn't put out a shoe worth buying since the last wrestling boom. Since then, it's been uninspired crap and re-issues. This is more of the same. It's like Reebok's S. Carter shoe? Who in the fuck thought that was cute? A silly white fishhead-looking motherfucker with laces that don't even match? Were I Jay-Z, I would've pimpslapped who ever brought me that and even suggested I attach my name to it. As is, people bought'em. But those silly inner-city youths...they'll buy anything.

Don't call me a fucking idiot for spending $100 - $200+ on a pair of Sneakers. I don't buy them to impress anybody, I buy them because I like the colors, the styles, among other things. My feet, my money... I can do what I please. EDIT: I'm a "inner-city youth, NO... I don't buy just anything.
Guest rawmvp Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I'm guessing Lebron's shoes look really plain because the Nike execs are trying to capitalize on the retro craze.

Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 I'm not sure what Sneakers you are talking about, but if you are talking about Air Jordan XVIII', I brought them about 2 months later for $100... . I do go to Outlets, I look for sales, deals, hookup's, etc... I think I can consider myself a smart shopper.
Guest redbaron51 Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 when are Kobe's shoes coming out? Dunno... but I've heard Latex Condoms are releasing Kobe Kondom's
