I just rented it and was wondering if anyone has seen it yet? I had not heard of it until my little girl saw the clown on the box and picked it up. I went to put it back and saw what it was and rented it. Looks pretty cool, but what should I expect?

I've seen it. It is one of those movies you may as well see once, but you only want to see once. It isn't your typical Kevin Smith, although some of the actors are the same. Very dark, freaky and disturbing. The concept and stuff is interesting, although a few scenes are very bothersome.

Highlight to read "disturbing" below:

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

The scene where he is raped is pretty bad and also the scene where he is bothered by it and starts to cut his wrists

Dark, disturbing, and pretty f'ed up. I can't really reccommend it, but it's survivable. Not the Kevin Smith I'm used to , but at the same it's a bit of proof that he can do more than sex and fart jokes.

Kevin Smith didn't direct the movie though, Bryan Johnson (aka: Steve-Dave from the Askew films) did. Smith however does make an appearance, as well as produce it.

I haven't seen the film since I first won the DVD (I haven't even seen the "Judge Not: In Defense of Dogma" documentary yet), but it's decent. Actually, in many ways my opinion of it is similar to I Spit On Your Grave: the rape scenes are well executed (not that I'm suggesting to watch a film for rape scenes, I'm not THAT depraved yet), however the "pay-off" revenge killings are underwhelming in contrast.

100% totally ignorant comment of the day: however, it's difficult to get behind him or sympathize with him when he invited it. What a stupid idea. There are lots of ignorant people who insist female rape victims "deserve it" because they dress in tight skirts or whatever, however in this case he actually was "dressing for it" - advertising himself as bachelor entertainment, which is generally accepted as being sexual in nature, and such. Although the villains of the film are just straight sickos anyway...if Bryan Johnson hadn't "covered his tracks" by making that point clear, it might be easier to think he was inviting it.

I love it, which probably means it's sick and disturbing. I like the villains in the movie, not that I want them to win or anything, but I think they're good characters. I can't tell if it's supposed to be a comedy with disturbing elements or a disturbing movie with comedic elements... but to me it's mostly funny.

I just watched it after having the damn thing a week and I was impressed. It was what everyone here said it was and then some.

I couldn't believe it got rejected from all those film festivals.

spoiler warning....

Sorry to dig up a year-old thread but I just caught this movie on TMN and I thought it was pretty good. Wondering if anyone else has seen it since. O'Holloran's acting is really hit or miss. He's fucking awesome during moments of high stress like the aftermath of the rape. During a lot of the straight scenes however, he hasn't seemed to have improved much since Clerks.

But he didn't kill them. That was the point. Flappy never directly killed anyone.

Nowhere in his ads do I think he would have suggested that sexual intercourse would be involved. I don't exactly get how he "invited" it.
