I rented wcw backstage assault...and i like it!?!?

Since game rentals are half off at the local rental place this week, I decided to finally take the plunge and rent the infamous Wrestlecrap inductee WCW Backstage Assault.  The graphics are absolutely the worst you can do on a PSOne....WWF Warzone and/or WCW vs The World blow this game away graphics wise.  Get past that though, and, well, I think it's kinda fun.  Is something wrong with me?  The controls aren't that bad at all, and the character selection (once you unlock a few guys) is pretty good.  It's kind of a morbid curiosity, and for some reason I'm getting a kick out of it.  It beats the crap out of Smackdown 2: Know Your Load Time (if only the graphics were half as good as Smackdown's, though).

I had that game for N64 and I didn't really have a problem with it.  I played for a few weeks, had a good time then bought No Mercy and haven't touched it since.

I liked the game for a few days since I rented it from Blockbuster the day it came out. Some of the charcters look horrible and nothing like the real wrestler. I haven't played the game since then and probably never will.

Actually it's not a bad game.  I found it fun, and a refreshing change from all the other wrestling games.  It's not one that I'll play day after day after day, but it's a huge step up from WCW Mayhem anyday.

That game was fun at first but then it just got to be boring because it was the same thing over and over again. And there's the fundamental flaw that this is a wrestling game with NO ring. Of course I did enjoy little things like unlocking people by setting your opponent on fire with the fire barrel, or breaking a table, etc.

Wasn't that the game that had people convinced that WCW's rebirth under Russo and Bischoff was going to involve the elimination of the ring altogether and have basically just street brawls and fights like that?  I never played it, as the only games for N64 I have from WCW are World Tour and Revenge.

Yeah, that's the game. People thought that was going to be "The Great American Bash surprise". The announcement that the ring is no more. It didn't happen. Although some thought it was Shane McMahon jumping to WCW. That would happen a year later. The surprised suck! It was the Goldberg heel turn.

I picked up Backstage Assault for about 5 buck at my local Target. And I gotta admit once you get past the crappy graphics and Tony calling the shots, It's really fun. Plus nothing beats setting Norman Smiley on fire.

I usually don't like video games as a whole(except basketball,football, a few wrestling games and some fighters) but I found this fun, sure it's got a lot of flaws but it's fun on a boring Tuesday night. My brother and me had a Jimmy Hart Vs. Bryan Adams match, man was that match packed with psychology, the springboard moonsaults, the Flying Space Tiger Drop

I really hate this game but it still beats the shit out of WWF In Your House for the playstation.  Sweet mother of god I hate that game and everything about it.
