Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 4, 2003 Since I'm enjoying this game and really getting some nice feuds going, I thought I'd start a diary. Just to start, here's this past Smackdown (I'm going by the event history, so I'll only give the overall rating of each segment: Opening Match: Funaki and Spanky vs. Nunzio and Chuck Palumbo Ever since I put Funaki and Spanky together just to give Hass and Benjamin a match and got a ****1/4 effort out of it, I decided to pair them up permanently. I also decided to unify the tag titles and make them floaters at Summerslam with the WGTT beating La Resistance. At No Mercy, I gave F & S the titles. They beat Chris Nowinski and Rodney Mack on RAW and this is their first SD! defense. They win, but Hass and Benjamin run in afterwards and beat them down. I smell rematch! Rating: 78% A video package plays of Kurt Angle's victory over Brock Lesnar at No Mercy and a graphic at the end says "Kurt Angle Title Celebration, Tonight!" Rating: 88% Cruiserweight title:Ultimo Dragon vs. Paul London Ultimo won the belt by beating Rey in late September and is defending against up and coming star Paul London, who holds victories over both the Big Show and Brock Lesnar. Pretty much a good no-frills wrestling match where one London mistake costs him the victory and Dragon retains with the sleeper. Paul. frustrated by the loss, smacks the turnbuckles and shakes his head. Rating: 82% John Cena graces us with his presence and offers a rap celebrating his victory over Edge at No Mercy. The Canadian bacon comment is over the line, however, and that draws out Edge, who smacks Cena with a chair and busts him open. Rating: 81% Eddie Guerrero comes out for a promo and everyone thinks he's there to talk about Benoit, who beat him for the US title at No Mercy, but surprisingly, his target is Kurt Angle. Eddie is sick of being mistreated by Kurt. When Eddie came to the WWE in 2000, Kurt was still learning about the business and Eddie, the veteran, helped him out. To thank him, Angle made a promise: when he became champ, Eddie would get his shot. However, Angle has held the belt three times now, and what has Eddie gotten? NOTHING! Eddie mentions the victory celebration tonight and makes some ominous statements about it. Rating: 96% A-Train vs. Undertaker Your basic Undertaker squash, but at the end, Brock Lesnar runs in and F-5's him. Brock and A-Train go for Taker, but he fights back and sends them packing. Rating: 64% A limo pulls up to the arena doors and Kurt Angle steps out, grinning from ear-to-ear, WWE title over his shoulder. Rating: 85% Chris Benoit makes his way to the ring. He celebrates his US title win a bit, telling Eddie that he's a hell of a competitor. Benoit promises to be a fighting champion and defend the title against anyone, and that brings out Matt Hardy, who wants a title shot TONIGHT! Benoit accepts, and it's on like neckbone. Rating: 80% Taker walks towards his dressing room, but he's jumped by Brock Lesnar, who leaves Taker out on the floor. Rating: 73% US title: Chris Benoit vs. Matt Hardy Great match that, at first, ends with Matt Hardy hitting the Twist of Fate and pinning him for the title. However, another ref runs down and points out that Shannon Moore had nailed Benoit with a chair to set up the pin. The ref waves off the decision and awards the victory to Benoit by DQ. Matt and Shannon beat Benoit down before leaving to their music. Rating: 80% Kurt Angle comes out for his victory celebration. He thanks Brock for the match and proclaims himself one of the greats. That brings out Eddie, who takes Angle down and hits a Frog Splash off the top. He holds the WWE title over Angle before dropping it on him and sliding out of the ring, camera focused on Eddie's face as we go to black. Rating: 93% Sez Sophie: We got a 4.75 rating for 'Smackdown!'! The attendance level was 10010 people. We made $400400 from ticket sales. Tune in for RAW, folks! Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 4, 2003 Here's RAW: HHH and Randy Orton come to the ring. Randy runs down RVD a bit before the talk turns to Chris Jericho helping RVD last week. This draws RVD and Jericho out and a tag challenge is laid down for tonight. RVD and Jericho accept. Rating: 77% (Jericho's new gimmick debuted to a negative reaction) Women's title: Jazz vs. Trish Stratus Typical woman's match until Lita, starved for the gold since she returned, runs in and goes after Jazz. She has done this in other matches with Trish involved, so Trish goes after her and we have a three-way brawl to the back. Overall: 72% Reaction: 76% Quality: 66% In the back, Eric Bischoff sets a triple threat up for next week which will involve Jazz vs. Lita vs. Trish for the Women's title Rating: 65% (Bisch loses overness) Christian vs. Hurricane This is a #1 contender match for the IC title. Christian wins with a Greco-Roman pull of the tights. Overall: 77% Reaction: 75% Quality: 80% Chris Jericho comes out. He is sick and tired of being HHH's lackey, just a guy that HHH toys with whenever he wants. He'll take the very thing HHH holds dear, the World Heavyweight Title. Rating: 93% IC title match: Booker T vs. Rhyno Rhyno wasn't too happy, so I put him on RAW and gave him the IC title. However, Rhyno was dogging it in all his matches, so here Booker gets the belt back and Rhyno gets a release. Sorry Rhyno fans. Overall: 69% Reaction: 75% Quality: 58% In the back, RVD gets some coffee, but Randy comes up to him and throws water in his face before running away. RVD gives chase, but runs right into an ambush with HHH and Flair beating him down. Rating: 72% Christian walks into Booker's locker room and demands that his title shot come next week. Booker accepts. Rating: 73% Lance Storm and Chris Nowinski vs. the Dudleys Storm and Harvard are anothe tag project of mine. Nowinski wins by Lance giving him some brass knucks and blasting Bubba. This may set up some interbrand tag action at SurSer. Jericho and RVD talk strategy while walking through the halls. Rating: 76% RVD/Jericho vs. HHH/Orton A pretty wild brawl. While HHH and Jericho go at it on the outside, Flair gives Orton a chair and blasts RVD with it for the victory. Evolution beat the pair down to end the show. Overall: 71% Reaction: 72% Quality: 71% Overall Rating: 73% Take us home, Sophie! We got a 5.56 rating for 'Raw'! The attendance level was 10035 people. We made $401400 from ticket sales. Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 6, 2003 All right, let's just fast forward a bit to the Survivor Series: Heat Match: Nidia vs. Torrie in a Bra and Panties match Hey, it's Heat. No real purpose here, although I might do a Gunn/Noble feud and can Gunn's ass after he jobs about 45 times in the next month. Anyway, Gunn asked Torrie to marry him on SD, but she refused (man, turned down by both Torrie Wilson AND Chuck Palumbo. Four words, Billy: "Russian women, green card.") Gunn tries to help her in the match, but, naturally, screws up, and Nidia wins. Torrie slaps Billy, probably the most contact Billy will ever get with her. Rating: 60% and I think -** from Dames. Cruiser title elimination: Ultimo Dragon vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Nova vs. Paul London Ultimo is a heel now, I debuted Nova a few weeks previous and, well, Rey is just awesome. That's why he was the first eliminated by Dragon. Dragon went next via Nova, and London won the belt with a London Calling. Rating: 79% Christian vs. Booker T (IC title) Ok, I really have NO idea what to do with the IC title, so I just slapped these two together. Christian Cheats to Win the belt. Rating: 65% First Blood: John Cena vs. Edge These two made each other bleed on Smackdown, so here you go. Edge manages to bust Cena open, but the ref is out, so Cena smacks Edge with a chair and wipes his own blood on Edge's to win. This feud also put Cena MEGA over and shot him right into the main event. Rating: 77% TLC: Hass/Benjamin vs. Dudleys vs. Lance Storm/Chris Nowinski vs. Funaki and Spanky Lance and Chris (sounds like Billy and Chuck redux) are another tag project of mine. Anyway, WGTT and F&S are feuding, and this is a way of giving Hass & Benjamin the belts without costing F&S any heat. Rating: 80% World title match: HHH vs. Chris Jericho Only in EWR can you put Jericho over HHH for the title, it seems. I had Orton screw up and cost HHH the title since I wanted to do an Orton/HHH feud, but HHH just wasn't over anymore, so I canned him. Rating: 71% Submission Match: Chris Benoit vs. Matt Hardy Benoit wins with the Crossface Rating: 80% RVD vs. Orton RVD gets the win in this placeholder mini-feud and will finally blow off the Kane feud. Rating: 73% WWE title: Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero Guerrero announcing his intention to retire at the end of November severely screwed up my plans, so I quick turned Eddie face and totally killed the heat of this feud (Eddie was getting the belt anyway, but he would have been a heel). Angle got it back in Eddie's last match on SD. Rating: 88% Total rating: 75%
