Favorite Nightmare on Elm Street movie...

well there's a Friday the 13th one and since Freddy vs. Jason is just about to come out...

 

 

i pick ANOES one because i think is the best and the scariest of them all, but i just love all the movies, specially the first four (yes even part 2)

 

so what's your favorite one?

I went with the first one. It's my favorite of them all...but I DO like New Nightmare almost as much.

I used to always HATE pt 2, cause I thought the story was weak, but I just watched it again and have a new found respect. I mean Freddy was still EVIL AS HELL in part 2, and he still had the more "dark" burn look, as opposed to what started in part 3 with Fred Kruger the Comedian.

 

Fav. is NOES, with honorable mentions to Part II & III

Part 2 with all of it's homosexual undertones.

 

Freddy might have been evil...but the efeminite leading man and the leather bar...and the coach tied up naked...

yeah Freddy was still really eeeeeevil in part two, and this movie also features one of my favorite scenes in this series:

 

when Freddy bursts out of Jesse's bodie, scared the shit out of me as a kid

The Pool scene in part 2 was one of the best moments in the series. I think 2 was one of those movies that had various GREAT MARKOUT moments, but the filler was garbage. I mean the whole dance routine while Jessie unpacked his socks......bah gawd.

I voted New Nightmare, but it's very close with the original first in the series. I loved the concept that New Nightmare introduced, making it seem more "real" than ever before. The acting out the screenplay as it's being written was way cool for me also.

 

Not to mention that Heather Langenkamp is hotter than ever in the film, and Freddy is just so much darker and more evil in this one.

I went with 3, the punk one of the series. I can't really explain why I like it, but it somehow gets the edge. I was going to give a runner up, but I realized that 1, 2, 6 and 7 are all tied for second.

yeah part 3 is my second favorite of the bunch, it has all those kids with cool powers on their dreams (Taryn ownz you) and Freddy isn't a full comediant here yet.

Part 3 also features the gruesome puppeteer death when Freddy is dragging the kid by tendons & muscles and shit......just gross, but GREAT.

The first one was great.

 

I'm one of few who liked Part II.

 

Part III was gay to me.

 

Part IV was okay.

 

Part V was good even though it had the whole Rosemary's Baby plot to it.

 

Part VI was awesome. Great way to end it all. Sure, there weren't that many deaths, but I enjoyed the story a lot. I loved the Freddy Desire video during the credits too.

 

I'll just pretend New Nightmare never happened.

 

My favorite moment was (I can't believe I don't remember which one this happened in)

The first one was by far the best. I didnt mind 3 and 5, 4 was ok and 2 was absolute shit.

 

I ahven't seen 6 and 7 though.

there's just one Nightmare movie i absolutly don't like, and it is part 5. It sucks so much and Freddy isn't entertaining at all in this entry.

 

I have the DVD boxset of the movies and this is the only one that i've just watched once.
