Another reason for the Elimination Chamber

Does anyone get the feeling that another reason the Elimination Chamber has come about is to scoop the heat from Kane's hot new angle (it is drawing ratings)? I mean, God forbid HHH, Goldberg, and the other 2 Kliq members take a back seat to something they are not a part of.

HHH: I've gotta get back into the spotlight. Working with Goldberg is killing my quarter hours and he is killing the building's heat everytime he comes out.

 

HBK: You? What about me? I've gotta job to a suckbag who doesn't deserve his push. This program puts me further down the midcard.

 

Nash: I'm going to have Jericho carry me into my match. Hunter, isn't there some way you can get us higher up on the card?

 

HHH: I'm thinking about it. I'm thinking about it. Right now, I've got to get out of dropping this belt clean to Goldberg.

 

HBK: And getting my match higher up on the card.

 

HHH: I've got it.

 

HBK and Nash: What is it?

 

HHH: Elimination Chamber. It gets us all in the top match. Plus it's a cool gimmick and I need to get the spotlight on ME and off of Kane's bald, crazy ass. I could lose to one of you guys and not Goldberg. Then when my groin heals, I could take him one on one later on and beat him clean. It's beautiful.

 

HBK: But Hunter, you almost got killed in the match last year.

 

HHH: I didn't say anything about RVD being in the match, did I?

 

Nash: But its a dangerous structure and you could get hurt or killed.

 

HHH: I don't give a shit. As long as I don't drop the title clean to Goldberg and get my spotlight back from Kane, Dammit!

Since WWE announced the change of the SummerSlam  main event on Raw last night, I have gotten a number of emails from people who see a HHH conspiracy in the works.  That isn't the case.  From what I am hearing, there are three reasons for the main event being changed and they are more Bill Goldberg related than anything else.

 

In the first case, the company has not gotten what they expected from Goldberg since he has joined the company.  There was a general feeling in the company that if they put him in a singles match with HHH, they would have probably had to put the title on him, which more and more it seems that they have been against doing.  In addition to not being happy with how he has gotten over since he came to WWE, he also doesn't work many house shows so if he became champion, they would be stuck in a situation where there would be no title matches on the house shows.

 

Then, Triple H injured his groin last week and will almost certainly be at well less than 100% for the SummerSlam match.  So, by adding a gimmick and more people to the bout, it was something of a precaution in case HHH is severely limited in what he can do in the ring.  It leaves WWE with other booking options if HHH can't carry things.

 

But, what may have turned into the big reason for the change in the match occurred last week.  After Triple H was injured last Monday night at Raw in his dark match with Goldberg, Vince McMahon personally asked Goldberg to go on the Australia tour and fill in for the injured champion since HHH was advertised as the headliner for months leading up to the shows.  Goldberg was not scheduled to go overseas due to the limited dates clause in his contract (believed to be 5 or 6 shots a month) and thus would have been a perfect "make good" to the Australian fans.  McMahon asked Goldberg to go on the tour and Goldberg did not, reportedly saying he had other things scheduled for the week.  McMahon was said to have replied with an answer like "no problem" but many in the company view what happened differently.

 

From what I have heard from a number of people in the company, Goldberg's turning down the boss was the talk of the Australia tour among the employees, with most feeling that Goldberg sliced his own throat professionally by not helping the company when they needed him.  While Goldberg was within his contractual rights to not go to Australia, it showed to many that he isn't a "team player" and this, in conjunction with his inflexibility to work house shows for the company, has led a few people in the company to tell me that it would not surprise them to see Goldberg leave WWE in the near future.  There is a feeling among many that it was a poor choice by Goldberg to not go on the tour when the company needed him.

Thats all good. It seems to suggest Goldberg won't get the title and yet Triple H may be too injured to hold it much longer.

Oh wow. Goldberg's not a team player. We already fucking new that, and Vince should have damn well listened when th writing was on the wall. Just fire Goldberg.

 

By the way, I believe if this is true, it greatly increases Orton becoming the champion at SS.

I am a fan of the Fuck Goldberg sentiment but I can't get up the hate for him here.

 

1. Good to see they won't give him a chance to see if he'll bomb.

 

2. Get the belt off the fucking cripple

 

3. What do you expect when you sign a guy to a deal like that then want him to do a foreign tour on short notice? I am not saying he should/shouldn't do it, but I can't fault him for not going. They knew when they signed him he wasn't much of a team player.

To think that last night everyone was HHHaterizing for almost 2 pages and then I stepped up and suggested it was Fuck Goldberg's fault.

All of this is just another indication of Vince and Co's short-sightedness biting them in their collective ass. F.G.B.'s unwillingness to take one for the team, the stupidity of keeping the belt on F.H.H.H., the refusal to build credible main eventers who can actually wrestle… all of these faults will culminate in yet another Elimination Chamber match that will not only kill the RAW belt's "credibility" once and for all, but drag down the real World Title's worth as well by relegating an excellent match (Lesnar/Angle) to nothing more than an afterthought.
