So, Uhm, Yeah. Randy Orton is Main Eventing the

Does this not disturb anyone?

It's bad enough that HBK and Foley are probably going to put the Suckbag over clean, but now this?

What the hell?

Randy Orton has NO upside. His mic skills have degenerated from "mildly amusing" last December" to "God awful". He has yet to have what one would call a good match (Although he hasn't had one of his patented SuckBag Specials in a while either) and most importantly, he is NOT AT ALL OVER. NOT AT ALL!

I'd venture to say he's just as unover as Test at the height of his apathy (All of 2001, All of 2002 and most of 2003. He got reactions for a month this year before people realized it was Test). He's like "Negative over." It doesn't even register at zero anymore.

What are they trying to do here? Are they hoping for last year's Brock absurdity to strike again?

Chill, AS. He's like Booker and Jericho and RVD and anyone else not HBK and HHH in the last EC match--he's just there. The real stars are HHH and Goldberg. *snicker*

Eh, he's just one of six guys. Whatever. It's not like he's the worse one in the match or anything.

How can you expect this guy to be over when he hasn't been with the company but for a little over a year?

Patience my friend, look into getting some.

Am I the only one getting a bad feeling that Orton is the best choice of who's going to walk out of Summerslam with the belt?

Well, if he's not over, I expect him to be out of the main event.

Yeah, no one can get over in a year!

Well, except for everypne else.

I'd put my money on Orton over any of the other five guys.

The problem isn't that he's just in the match, and he is NOT just another Booker T or RVD. At least those guys have a little something called talent. I have seen NOTHING, not a single thing, in Orton that would even suggest he is worthy of even the IC title, much less a main event run for even one month.

He's borring, is what I love to call "painfully average", and is nothing at all special outside of his passable speaking skills. I've seen more talent in Maven than this guy, and I don't see much in Maven as of right now.

Randy Orton will be world champion, if not at Summerslam, then by the end of 2003.

Man if it takes you that long to get over you better pray for a Rock-like turnaround.

I don't see Orton going off and coming back as good as Rock did though.

Is it that big a deal? This isn't the first time some one not over main evented for Raw.

Out of everyone in the match, Jericho is the one I want to see win.

He's also the least likely to win.

Everyone else is just a question of "Who is the lesser evil?"

Someone said in the Raw thread that "You'd have to be retarded to think they'll put the belt on Randy Orton."

And they were right. The problem is, Vince is retarded.

I would like to believe they aren't that stupid, but it wouldn't shock me if Orton did win.

Yes, yes it is a big deal.

Here's why I came to the conclusion that Orton can and might get the belt:

Triple H-needs "recovery time", having the belt placed on his friend (whom he said he wanted to "make") and keeps it warm until he gets back.

Nash-no chance of ever getting a title after not drawing for shit in the solo feud with Crips.

Jericho-Think logically here, people.

Michaels-Due to put Orton over at SS before the match change, so no reason why that booking plan would shift.

Goldberg-Becoming a disaster for the company in many ways...doubt they'd put the belt on him with no faith in him.

Also, they wouldn't want to blow a possible draw by having Goldberg win the belt in this match, unless they make him use the cage gimmick to his benefit and destroy everyone. I'd say Orton gets the belt, and if Goldy gets his act together, he wins over Orton, and then when Triple H is at 100% (or as close as he gets these days) you have the money match, Triple H gets it back, and Goldberg goes back to saving the cats or whatever.

Aww please, this is like calling Larry Zybsyko a main eventer for WCW because he was in two War Games. Orton is just there to continue his feud with Michaels and save Triple H so JR can be all "This is an elimination match! There aren't supposed to be teams!" The chances of Orton coming out of Summerslam with the belt are worse than Kane's and Kane isn't even in the match.

What makes anyone think that they wouldn't put the title on Orton, what with the push we've seen him recieve thus far? It's obvious they plan on pushing him to the fucking moon.

Like I said before, if not at SS, then before this year is over.

Maybe Jericho can win the belt...you know, just until HHH comes back from the injury?

Call me a fool but maybe they'll reward Jericho for losing practically every PPV match in recent memory and give him the belt...nah.

Because the Orton SuperPUSH OF DOOM~~~! has been blown way out of proportion. The biggest win the guy has under his belt is Scott Steiner who is firmly entrenched in the midcard. Eveyone else he's beaten (Dreamer, Spike, Maven) are complete jobbers and haven't beaten anyone in it seems like years.

If Orton wins the title- I am done with it.

Smackdown may have its problems, but Raw is just live filler compared to Smackdown.

Orton will never be 100%, so why shoot the title to him?

HHH may care about his work, but he has held that title in overly unchartistic ways-Racial Angle with Booker T etc...

I dont give you damn what anybody says- Goldberg must win the title- no matter what Vince or his wife Says, or other wise, you going to have to hot shot the title from Orton to Kane, and back to HHH.

Nobody is over enough to win the "Fake" title.

And its time for trades- Take Cena, Jones, Morris, and A-Train, for Booker T, Jericho, RVD, and Hurricane. Then HHH can go over those bastards for the belt.

You know, I wouldn't be all that shocked if Jericho won. I'm not expecting it, but it could happen very easily. Anyways if a face wins it (ie Goldberg), who will he face? Well, there's Jericho, and Triple H when he gets back from his injury. I guess Orton, but I don't think that Orton is considered fulll fledged main event yet. As someone else said, he's been getting wins over mid-carders. That doesn't equal main eventer.

So? It's just a run in... Arn Anderson used to do that sort of thing all the time and no one thought he was a main eventer. I guess I'm just a little tired of people over guessing how much Orton is going to get considering I've seen him proclaimed the next World Champion, IC Champion, and the man to retire Michaels and Foley.

Hey guys....let's not forget here.

Randy Orton is better than Lou Thesz.

Why shouldn't he get the title?

If Goldberg wins the belt for whatever reason, I say it's just a transition reign and he drops it to Kane-ibal Lecter soon after.

I'm fine with that scenario... hell I'd be happy as a pig if Shawn won and jobbed the belt to Kane in an ass kicking the next night.

True. A lot of the convo here seems like preemptive bitching about Orton. Orton hasn't even won any gold yet. Let's wait to see where it goes first and then let the bitching commence.

He might get hurt again before they can go into overdrive with his push.
