Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 (edited) Whatever happened to Willie Green, and Billy P? I have another question, which is kind of stupid, what the Hell kind of name is Pete Gas? Edited August 5, 2003 by Plush Cthulhu
Guest bort Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 i dont know what happned to the mebers of the psse, i think the last time i saw them was in shanes match with pac at mania, id think they just didnt want to become wrestlers like rondey and Gas, pete gas was an ok name. i dont remeber what his finisher was but i remeber it was called the gas mask. joey abs was by far the best of the posse, i wonder what happend to him cuz i dont think i have read his name in any results for a long while, and does anyone know why in EWR 4.0 matt hates joey cuz i thought they both came out of OMEGA
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I don't think they were meant to be wrestlers, just more guys to back up the "Shane's such a badass" story. And I liked the Posse
Guest Aero Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Don't ask me how I remember, but the Posse's finishers were... Rodney: High Society (Buff Blockbuster) Pete Gas: Gas Mass (I think it was the Mosh Pit move off the top rope. I don't know the technical name for it) Joey Abs: Stock Exchange (Don't remember what exactly it was.) Personally, I always liked Pete Gas the best, then Rodney, and I hated Joey Abs. I remember when he was brought in late, he was supposed to be some big bad ass, so he injured Patterson & Brisco. A few months later he was jobbing to Kaientai along with Rodney & Pete.
Guest Choken One Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Rodney and Pete were the actual friends right? And Abs was just the HVW/OVW prospect they brought up right?
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Joey Abs and Pete Gas are working for the TWA. Or something like that.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Abs was the real wrestler who was put in to compliment Rod and Pete were friends of Shane's. Foley talks about it in his first book. I know that Rod was going as Rodrageous at one point.
Guest The Old Me Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I think they're doing indies. Abs was brought in as a foil for Test, as Shane wanted Steph to hook up with Abs.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Joey Abs was played by Jason "Venom" Arndt, a former WWF jobber who wrestled in OMEGA with the Hardys, Moore, Helms, etc. His claim to fame probably isn't even for being Joey Abs, but for being the guy that pinned Steve Austin on Action Zone back in '96 when the Bulldog cost him a match against 2 jobbers. He got sent through the developmentals a few years later, and debuted as the only actual wrestler (at the time) in the Posse. Rodney was doing the Rodrageous thing in Memphis before they got shut down. It seemed more or less like a Spanky style gimmick, as he wore a singlet, with boas and a stove pipe hat. Pete Gas also got pretty jacked, and both were trying to make it as legit stars. I believe his finisher was the Gas MASK, not Mass, and I'm sure it was some type of submission. Count me in as a Posse fan. Got their picture right here above my desk at work.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Rod and Pete were friends of Shane's. I guess they brought in Joey to give the group a legit wrestler.
Guest Askewniverse Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I believe his finisher was the Gas MASK, not Mass, and I'm sure it was some type of submission. It was the Gas Mask, but I think that the original poster just made a typo. The Gas Mask was a reverse full nelson into a seated powerbomb. Joey Abs' finisher was a version of the Razor's Edge.

Was it a Razor's Edge or a Crusifix Bomb?
Guest Askewniverse Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Actually, now that you mention it, it was more of a crucifix powerbomb.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Whatever happened to Willie Green, and Billy P? I have another question, which is kind of stupid, what the Hell kind of name is Pete Gas? Willie Green raised the briefcase at King of The Ring '99. I don't know what kind of name that is, but CRZ always wrote it as Pete "Gas."
Guest bort Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 anyone know why in ewr 4.0 matt hardy hate abs, i also remeber rondey and joey abs having a tag finisher i think it was a back body drop by rodney into a powerbomb by abs, i cant remeber if it had a name
Guest ToddRoyal Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 I hate that I know this much about the Posse, but... Pete Gasparino (Hence Pete Gas), Rodney, Willie Green and the guys that showed up at SummerSlam for the Test match were all childhood friends of Shane. Rodney and Gas decided they wanted to stay in wrestling while the others got out. The WWF wanted to add a "Real" wrestler, Joey Abs, who ended up being- as Zack said, former WWF job guy and Omega Vet Jason Arhndt. (If I remember right, Joey Abs was supposed to be played by Joe E. Legend (Legend in TNA), but he became Just Joe instead.) Rodney's finisher was the Buff Blockbuster (High Society) Pete Gas' finisher was a reverse Full Nelson into a sit out powerbomb. (Gas Mask) Joey Abs finisher was a Razor's Edge (forget the name) The Posse's double team finisher was a backdrop by one guy (usually Abs) into a powerbomb by another (Rodney) -This was the Stock Exchange (because y'know, the guy was "exchanged" between the two) Gas and Rodney (as Rodrageous) were still wrestling, last I knew, but not under WWE contract, and Arhndt is still active too. As for why he has a hate relationship with Matt, I imagine it has to do with some issues in OMEGA. That's all I know about the Posse. I hope.
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Joey Abs got a big head, from what Matt Hardy says. and Rodney and Pete Gas tried really hard, and I akways enjoyed that. They where willing to do anything(says The Mick) and from what I heard Rodney became a pretty decent-to-good babyface as Rodrageus
Guest Askewniverse Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Joey Abs finisher was a Razor's Edge (forget the name) I think that it was called the "Ab-solute."
iliketurtles Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 His claim to fame probably isn't even for being Joey Abs, but for being the guy that pinned Steve Austin on Action Zone back in '96 when the Bulldog cost him a match against 2 jobbers. Let me describe this situation a little bit more: I have this on tape. It's actually Superstars, and it's Jason Arndt or whatever his name was & Eddie Jackie vs. Steve Austin. Basically, Austin squashed Jason the week before and was so disgusted by him, that he told him to go get a tag partner and he'd beat them both. This was around the time of the buildup to Rumble 1997. Austin had them both down, and Bulldog came out and clotheslined Austin behind the ref's back and Jason got the pin. Later in the broadcast, Austin Pillmanized both Jackie & Arndt...and that was the end of that. So there ya go.
