Quick question about the WWF / WCW Tag Titl

As we all know, the WWF / WCW Tag titles were unified by the Dudley Boyz at Survivor Series in 2001. But weren't they originally "unified" at SummerSlam by Undertaker and Kane according to what JR said at the end of the match on the PPV? What happened? Thanks in advance.

They held both championships simultaneously but did not formally unify them.

They held the belts at the same time but on September 17th- The BOD lost the WWF tag titles to the Dudleyz

On a side note, I gotta say that one of the worst tag team champs I've watched over the years was Taker and Kane. They just ruined the tag team division after the great Hardys/Dudleys/EC era.
