Guest rawmvp Report post Posted August 6, 2003 I thought the Elimination Chamber would become an exclusive gimmick for the annual Survivor Series PPV. Now that this match is being booked for this year's SummerSlam, how does this affect the Survivor Series show? Will Vince opt to use the Chamber again after just 3 months? Will he bring WAR GAMES back? Will we see a brand new gimmick? Will the 4 on 4 Survivor Series elimination bouts make a triumpant return? What do you guys think? Personally, I'd love to see HHH, Flair, Orton, Y2J, Kane vs. RVD, HBK, Booker T, Mick Foley, Shane in a WarGames or Hell in a Cell match.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Here's a thought... how about Survivor Series matches? It's so off the wall, it just might work!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Vince will never use War Games... I will expect them to do return of the Elimination Matches... or they will just have it be an standard PPV like Mania and Slam(minus the Chamber)
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Shh.. Don't break their hopes. Of course, "War Games" is mentioned around here on average of ten times a week, and every time there's a PPV coming up. Vince's treatment of WCW-related products/wrestlers/gimmicks is well known around here, so why would there even be speculation that he'd actually USE it? Never going to happen, folks. Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Yeah expect standard matches but definitely 1 or 2 Survivor Series matches from each brand since they have half the spots for each brand of talent. This way they can fit as many people as they can in on the show.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted August 6, 2003 I think there needs to be a main title match from each brand, and then the rest will be Raw vs. SMDN survivor matches. The concept of the survivor match won't sell on its own anymore I don't think.

It should be saved as a selling point of Wrestlemania XXI or something...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 6, 2003 I might live with a Smackdown Vs Raw Elimination Survivor Series Match... but you need SOME type of stipulation and "RIGHTS TO ARMAGEDDON" won't cut it...

Guest Aero Report post Posted August 6, 2003 I liked the idea of doing the EC as an annual thing for Survivor Series. In fact, I would have loved to see one this year for Smackdown, instead of RAW. Brock vs. Angle vs. Benoit vs. John Cena vs. Undertaker vs. Eddie Guerrero But, I hope they bring back the traditional tag matches. Those always made Survivor Series one of my favorite PPVs years ago.

Main event at Mania Shouldn't that come along with the Rumble Gimmick... Although since they have Hyped the PPV so damn much... It might work You have the match for the MAIN event at Mania (You must have the 8 most likely Main eventers to be in this match to *REALL* sell it) It would have to be RAW Jericho RVD Flair HBK Vs Smackdown Angle Cena Taker Benoit I'm assuming that the World Title Matches will be Lesnar Vs Eddy (hometown) HHH Vs Orton

Guest CronoT Report post Posted August 6, 2003 I already gave my opinion about Survivor series, but I'll give the short version again. Whichever brand wins more Survivor Series matches gets a hand-picked #30 Entrant for the Rumble match, and the loser brand has to enter as #1. So, if Austin/Bischoff picks Goldberg or Kane, and Steph picks either Angle or Lesnar, the resukts would be like this: RAW wins, and Kane gets the #30 Entrance, and Angle has to go in as #1. If SD! wins, reverse it.

Guest Aero Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Bah, that doesn't count, what year was the last Survivor Series where they did the traditional matches. 1999 2000 had two... - Billy Gunn, Chyna, Road Dogg, & K-Kwik vs. Radicalz - Dudleys & Hardys vs. Edge & Christian & RTC
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Bah, that doesn't count, what year was the last Survivor Series where they did the traditional matches. 1999 Well...they did the InVasion Blowoff you know... Yeah, but a majority of the show in 1999 had the multi-man tag matches. 2000 had two, and 2001 had one, I believe.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted August 6, 2003 Yeah 2001. I dont see how that doesnt count. It was a traditional 5 on 5 elimination match, even more old school in the fact that it was the main event.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 6, 2003 The 2002 Survivor Series had three mutli-person matches all involving elimination- so at least they tried
Detective Comics 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2003 (edited) Bah, that doesn't count, what year was the last Survivor Series where they did the traditional matches. 1999 Well...they did the InVasion Blowoff you know... I did see your post Choken One, but I did not quote it when I replied..... I phrased my question wrong.... I basically just wanted to know the last Survivor Series PPV where they did the traditional matches... and wasn't the InVasion match 5 on 5? EDIT: Just ignore me... I am all confused.... I am thinking of something else..... don't worry.... I'll be all better after a little more sleep. I am getting that confused with the other 10 man match they did with the invasion angle. Guest rawmvp Report post Posted August 6, 2003 (edited) I could see Vince use WarGames only if the following scenario transpires: Flair: Hey Hunter, this group we've got going -- Evolution -- it's the best thing in the business today. With the Survivor Series coming up, I've got a great idea how we can cement Evolution's stature as the greatest stable of all time. WHOOOOO!! Hunter: What's that, Ric? Flair: You know how you're dying to be like me, right? All the way down to the blow-dried hair, the $5,000 dollar Armani suits, the 10,000 dollar Rolex watches, the leer jets, the beautiful women...WHOOOO!!!....all the way down to this group we've got called Evolution, a modern day Horsemen stable. Hunter: I know, Ric. What can I say? You've been my idol since I was a little Triple H. I would WHOOO in my diaper, strut like you, and motion my hips at other girls. I wanted to be the MAN, just like you Ric. I even tried to be a political mastermind like you. When I was in kindergarten, I'd always compliment my teacher, making sure that I was Ms. Johnson's favorite student. One day, another kid, Chris, arrived who also had beautiful, silky blond hair. I was afraid Ms. Johnson would like Chris more because his hair was sleeker. You know what I did, Ric? I told Ms. Johnson that Chris couldn't sing the alphabet like we all did in class. Instead of saying "next time will you sing with me," Chris said, "next time can you sing with me." He couldn't work Ms. Johnson's style. I also told her that Chris' math skills were really weak. From that day forward, Ms. Johnson only smiled at me and not Chris. This is how I made sure I was the number one student in my teachers' eyes throughout elementary school. Flair: Well, do you know how the Horsemen got over for good? WARGAMES...whooooo!!!...the match beyond; the most dangerous match in Pro Wrestling. WHOOOOO!!! HHH: I love it, Ric. You're a genius, an inspiration, and the greatest wrestler of all time. Really! *Flair starts weeping* Flair: Thanks, man. You really shouldn't have... *HHH walks up to Vince* HHH: Hey Dad, I've got a great idea for Survivor Series. The match is called the BattleZone; it consists of a double ring and double cage. More importantly, Evolution will finally be seen as an ominous threat in Sports-Entertainment! *Shane walks up to Vince* Shane: Hey Dad, what do you say we have a WarGames match at the Survivor Series? Vince: Hell no, Shane. You know I would never use one of WCW's ideas!!! *Vince glances at HHH* Vince: I love it, son. HHH: Thanks, Dad.
