DDP and Kim Page in new movie

Recommended Posts

You see boys and girls, it pays to read the Sunday Night Heat recap at Meltz's site.

If someone HAS posted this so far, shoot me in the fucking foot.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The Scam Artist

The SCAM ARTIST is an independent film noire set in a near future where corporations have the power and resources of governments. Scamming them is a precarious art practiced by a dangerous few who have the lastest in technology and little respect for the human condition. What happens when the scams get personal?

------------------------------------------------------------------

DDP ironically plays a character named "Unknown". I am not shitting you on this. And why is it ironic? Um... I don't know, it just sounded right saying it like that.

No official date of anything has been released, only a simple trailer.

From the trailer and from briefly skimming the site, it seems like Kim Page actually has a bigger part than DDP himself. To the trailer's credit, DDP throws in a pretty badass "No shit" in there. But, other than that, it just looks like some generic "take over the corporations" movie.

Now, let's hear the "Should've been called the SCUM artist" and "Oh, he plays the part he was destined for: some sort of a stalker".

Damn, DDP has now moved into top ten ranking for worst performance by a wrestler turned actor. Right below Buff Bagwell and ahead of Randy Savage.

Hooray for stuff that has nothing to do with WWE... in the WWE folder!

Wait..

DDP did a commercial for Slamball which aired durring RAW last week.

So on a technicallity, it does.

Plus the fact that DDP was on Byte This this past week!

It's not a wife-swapping porno? Shock of shocks.

Noir's dead, though, in my opinion. And since it doesn't look like we've got 1/30 of the type of talent that went into a Touch of Evil, I don't think this will be very good.

And other attempts to revive noir haven't turned out well--see "Heist" for example.

Isn't this in the wrong folder though?

Actually, you're wrong there Andrew. Neo-Noir, on the heels of Quinten Tarantino is probobly stronger now then it ever was before. Plus, the HK John Woo films, Killing Zoe, Femme Fatale, Guy Ritchie's UK Films, Blade Runner, Miller's Crossing, Payback, LA Confidential, etc. etc.

It looks to me like this movie is shot on DV, rather than film. That will make it bomb even before it has a chance to touch the big screen.

8. Goldberg (Universial Soldier 2)

Actually, Goldberg isn't in Universal Soldier 2. He's in Universal Soldier: The Return, which is either the 3rd or 4th film in the series (the first one and Return were the only mainstream ones, mind you, as the others are direct-to-video).

The first thing I thought when I saw the headline "DDP and Kim Page in a movie" was that they'd done a porn together.

I'm not sure if that means I'm too cynical or it just shows what kind of actors DDP and Kim are/were.

Well, Kim posed nude, DDP had a pervert gimmick during the Alliance days and supposedly is one in real life, and reportedly Bisch and Eric did some wife swapping...

Can't blame you.

Can one of you movie-types give me an explanation on what exactly "film noir" is?

Whoa, it's self-swinging. This could be a serious medical problem, along the lines of bipolar disorder, or just some really crazy fetish. He wants his wife to cheat on him with himself.
