KingPK Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Check it, bleed. I take full responsibility for the suckiness of the questions. I just came off a 4 hour car ride and I know very little about these divisions. Give us your opinion.
LaParkaMarka Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 "Jared: Do the Bengals have a defense? Or reliable wide receivers? Not that I know of." Their defense sucks, but Chad Johnson is a great little sleeper WR (1100+ rec yards, 5 TDs). The Bengals are still going to have a bad year though. Maybe 5 wins (if Cleveland collapses twice, Houston/Arizona lose, and they pull off a win out of Baltimore or something). "Bryan: Not unless the new stadium is a good cover corner..." Gold. Anyways, I see the Vikes being a playoff contender this year. If someone steps up as a solid RB, and Culpepper/Moss don't suck, they could be up there with the declining Pack.
SteakGrowsOnUecker Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Ok About the Bears... Bryan: Ted Washington HAS to be HEALTHY. That's should be their top priority. Without the big man eating up Lineman in front of Urlacher...his size becomes a hinderance and takes away his speed as a plus. Both big men on the Defensive line Washington, and Traylor are healthy this year. Byron: Also, their secondary is horrible. McQuarters is a decent corner, but he's really nothing special when you consider they inhabit the same division as Randy Moss Give me a break. The bear secondary is a lot better then meets the eye. Last year when they were playing everyone was injured they were using second and third stringers in there. Mike Brown is a phenomenal FS and Mike Green the SS showed a lot of improvement throughout last year. As for the corners Jerry Azumah is an excellent corner back that gets no publicity. RW is very good but has problems with injuries. Back Up Todd McMillon is one of the hardest hitting corners I've ever seen. He was a huge surprise last year when he and Roosevelt Williams subbed in for the injured RW McQuarters and Reggie Austin. If you saw the Bears preseason game this year you would have noticed how incredibly good and deep they're defense is. The reason why the secondary wasn't so good last year was because the offense had them on the field the whole game. When the offense goes out and goes three and out every possession it's pretty hard to get a rest. The key to the bear's success is the offensive line improving and Kordell Stewart playing well. If that doesn't happen then the bears will have another dismal season.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Please note to change my statement that William Green has not looked good so far in preseason...to...William Green is the F'N man.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 *watching Browns game* I think Couch can kiss that starting job goodbye
Guest Choken One Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Please note to change my statement that William Green has not looked good so far in preseason...to...William Green is the F'N man. William Green=Anthony Thomas 2003.
SteakGrowsOnUecker Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 William Green=Anthony Thomas 2003. Potentially losing his starting job? Maybe. Keep in mind Cleveland's O-Line is pure crap. Worse than Chicago's. About Anthony Thomas, if he doesn't step it up Adrian Peterson will take his job. Peterson has looked incredible so far.
Guest Choken One Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 I was refering to the fact "A-Train" sucked 7 different ways last season... How the prior season was a fluke... William Green is my pick to be that person...
SteakGrowsOnUecker Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 A-Train did blow ass but his offensive line was the main reason. The bears foolishly let the quality players go and kept the old hacks. When the old hacks got injured, Chicago was left with going to a Pizza shop and finding the biggest guys they could find that resembled football players. To rectify this problem the bears did....absolutely nothing. Damn them. It shall be a fun year.

William Green is my pick to be that person... Everything about the 2001 Chicago Bears was a fluke. Look how quick they got beat in the playoffs..
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 William Green sucks. Seriously, look how he did against Pittsburgh in the playoffs. If he had done anything on the ground, the Clowns would have beat my Steelers soundly.
