Guest Redhawk Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Assuming that they want to coach at D-1 schools again, what do you think the chances are of some of these disgraced coaches getting another shot? Will they have to go to a small school first? Will they go right back into a big school? Could they ever coach in the pros? Give your opinion on.... Dave Bliss (Baylor basketball) Larry Eustachy (Iowa State basketball) Rick Neuhiesel (Washington football) Mike Price (Alabama football) Jim Harrick (Georgia basketball) ...add more if you can think of them. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 No Yes Yes Yes No The only ones who might deserve another chance are Price, and Eustachy. If they can clean up their acts they probably deserve another shot. The other 3 are crooks and shouldn't be allowed back into coaching. However Neuheisel will be the first one to get hired. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Dave Bliss (Baylor basketball) - No Chance In Hell! Larry Eustachy (Iowa State basketball) - I could see a low level school. No one got hurt by his actions. Rick Neuhiesel (Washington football) - Absolutely. An office pool is nothing to be blackballed over. Mike Price (Alabama football) - I would have said yes before the lawsuit. Might end up blackballed. Jim Harrick (Georgia basketball) - IIRC, this was just an academics thing. People get over that, so yes.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 What about the Saint Bonaventure coach? I don't care to look up his name, but a low level coach pulling a stunt like that makes me think he is done.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Harrick has cheated at 3 different schools. There's a limit even in college coaches. Neuheisel's commited recruiting violations, but what got him fired techinically was allowed. He also lied about interviewing for the San Fran. job. The issue of trust should come into play. It won't though.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 He is a big name. If a smaller school wanted to make a splash that would snap him up.
Guest Smark-Raving Mad Report post Posted August 18, 2003 The St. Bonaventure coach is an assistant with the New Orleans Hornets now. Harrick, Neuheisel and Price will absolutely get jobs because they win. There are plenty of schools who will be willing to sell their souls to win. Neuheisel should probably just go to the pros. Eustachy, I think so, although probably nothing as good as the Big 12 again. Bliss I'm not so sure about. He was regarded as a standup guy, but so much shit keeps creeping out of the woodwork. He's definitely the one most likely never to work again.
