Guest Booker D Report post Posted April 2, 2002 RIP WWF 'Attitude' 1997-2002 Am I the only one who got a feeling of freshness tonight? For the first time in 5 years, it truely feels like a shift in the companies approach. A new set, a new look, new music a new feel. I feel like we have finally left the Attitude days. Sure they were great, but we needed a change. Amen to the split bruthas, amen!

Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 2, 2002 If I turned on the TV right now, unable to see the new set, this show would look exactly the same as last week's, and the week before that, etc.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted April 2, 2002 If you ask the WWF, they'll probably say its the "Desire" era. Dames - Has "Desire"...For Your Mother. Woo!
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted April 2, 2002 I thought the "Attitude" era died in Oct. '99. The WWF went in a different direction after Russo left, then in the Fall of 2000 the WWF went back to a Russo-like "Crash TV". I guess we're in the "Desire" era. Since I haven't heard the WWF say "Attitude" in years.
Guest Report post Posted April 2, 2002 I liked the new set, music, etc. It was a breath of fresh air; the old set had become very stale, in my opinion. I wasn't expecting a radical change in direction, that'd be silly, but I enjoyed it none the less. Eddie returned, Bubba Ray's single career began, and something NEW is being done with Kane, so I'm content.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 2, 2002 If they can actually go through with the split (no Rock, or Vince, or clips with other wrestlers) then I'll say it's changed. Until then it's the same thing, new package.
Guest KC Evers Report post Posted April 2, 2002 Am I the only one who misses the old 1993 Monday Night Raw look? They need to bring back that siren.
Guest ratboy Report post Posted April 2, 2002 It feels just a little bit like the NewBlood era Nitro, with definite new directions as to who will be getting a push. It was different, and I really didn't mind it too much.

Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted April 2, 2002 I think the presence of X-Pac/Kane and Austin KICKWHAMSTUNNERing authority figures kind of eliminates it from being something ultimately new... ...but there were other developments that were good, like a little more of a focus on wrestling and feuds that start in somewhat logical ways without raiding the old Russo playbook. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 2, 2002 For as long as some of you have been watching wrestling you'd think you would've realized by now that you can't expect drastic changes overnight. Well sure the show wasn't earth shattering and like nothing we have ever seen, but honestly if were expecting earth shattering changes you set expectations way too high. At least they are taking steps at changing it up for the first time in a long time. They may be baby steps and not happening overnight like some people were thinking, but at least there is some sign of movement. Yeah yeah we all know that at the current time the Raw roster is looking pretty weak. But haysoos people it's a week old with many "free agents" that either have never been used or that have been off tv for a while. Since the whole idea behind "the split" is to give more talent a shot. Therefore, it only makes sense that one side would get a "weaker" roster with only a few guys that are considered good to start with this way the "new guys" get a better chance when put on that show. Most of us have been screaming for them to give the guys that have rarely seen WWF tv time a shot. So i'd think that more of us would see that one show with a weaker roster originally is a good sign as far as getting "new talent" on tv.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 2, 2002 I personally find it a little annoying that the WWF has just decided it is now the "Desire" era. For a new era to emerge, there have to be significant changes, and so far we're just not getting them.

Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 2, 2002 Uh yeah, but is this a good thing? The end of Attitude? Well, if it really is dead, which I doubt, yes it is a good thing. The ratings show that something new is needed, and just splitting the rosters won't do it.
Guest Report post Posted April 2, 2002 I enjoyed the new set look, and I feel something different...why...it looks like feuds might actually be given a chance to shine and play out instead of jumping around from wrestler to wrestler...And one of the main feelings I got of the new RAW came from the very first match, between Book and RVD...It was a pretty good, solid match..More than I would expect on RAW, almost pay per view quality but not quite. If only all TV matches could be like that....
Guest papacita Report post Posted April 2, 2002 It definitely felt like something new to me. New set...new belt...new feuds. Hell, the only thing that remained the same was that I fell asleep during the damn thing. Anyway, for those of you who didn't like the show up need to give the WWF some time. Once they get their characters developed the way they want, things are gonna get more entertaining. And it'd be a little unrealistic for them to just start ignoring Vince McMahon, Hogan and the Rock overnight just cuz they're on a different show. As far as the new era is concerned, attitude, desires. Doesn't matter to me. I fall asleep during 1 more show and I'll start calling it nap time.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted April 2, 2002 I don't think that it's totally out of the Attitude era yet. I mean, the intro to all of the WWF shows ends of with that exploding sound and you always see the "WWF" letters in attitude style, and Attitude flashes the screen once. But besides that, Raw started focusing just a bit more on the wrestling aspect of it. I liked the RVD/Booker T match. Booker T was getting some pops, especially at the Spinnerooni. When he executed the flying kicked a LOT of people popped. I feel Booker can easily get over as a face. Austin executing Stunners on both "owners" of the WWF still is residue from the Attitude aspect(Even though people popped for it). My absolute favorite moment of the match was when Brock Lesnar DESTROYED the Hardy punks. Especially the three-powerbombs-of-DOOM on Jeff Hardy. He was getting a tremendous amount of heat as well. I think he is the King of the Ring this year. Raw wasn't a terrible show, but it could've been better. Let's hope it does get better......
Guest Mole Report post Posted April 2, 2002 Well, this is still in the Attitude era, but it feels a little different. The new Raw kinda reminds me of when Raw first came to TV, in 93'. I still like it though, it is something different, and fresh. I like Eddy/RVD, Kane push, no Steph, new Belt, longer TV matches, SCSA is back, and it's a new set. Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 2, 2002 The new set, music, graphics, belt are just cosmetic fixes. The show is still the same Vince is still the man, the nWo is still here only difference now is that X-Pac talks. Its still Austin vs Vince era. Eddy, RVD, Booker T, Spike, Buh Buh, Bradshow are making baby steps but the second they get a bigger pop than the main eventer its back to NWA indy scene. Guest notJames Report post Posted April 2, 2002 We are not out of the Attitude era. Five words: Paddle on a pole. Russo lives. Although, if Molly's beatdown was a sign of moving away from T&A non-wrestling, I'm all for it. T&A you can get anywhere. Can you say the same about quality wrestling? Guest caboose Report post Posted April 2, 2002 it's not new, it's the same old BS they've been giving us for the last 18 months. as great as the man is, when StoneCold returned in september of 2000, the best wwf period ever died. for the ten months from Survivor Series 1999 to Unforgiven 2000, the wwf really felt fresh, the reasons why: Rocky as Top face, HHH proving he was the Game, Taker's new persona, Angle, Jericho, & Benoit all climbing the card, Eddie.G had a decent push(though with Chyna), Edge & Christian were on another level to any tag team since the Hollywood Blondes, The Dudley'z and Hardy'z were still fresh, For the most part there was no Billy.G, Foley was commish and his skits with HHH, Edge & Christian were too funny, A heel(HHH) walking out of WrestleMania was shocking, Vince was missing for two significant peiods, The Lightweight Division made a somewhat of a recovery with Malenko and Scotty, Big Show was making me cry with laughter, The height of Crash's Hardcore escapades, Shane getting obliterated by Blackman, Test was not allowed to work by himself. This new direction is just 1997, 1998, and most of 1999 squashed together, as was 2001.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 2, 2002 The show seems fresh to me. The matches didn't seem so rushed but there was just a little too much time wasted with backstage crap. It was still a great start to Flair's Raw.
