After the match, Yokozuna delivered a second Banzai Drop as the trainers raced out. The show closed with the 1-2-3 Kid being taken out on a stretcher while Yokozuna stood in the ring(*3/4)

Royal Rumble 1994

Opening Match

Chris Jericho vs Paul Levesque

Background: Two newcomers square off in this match however Jericho has recently been having issues with one Jeff Jarrett while Levesque is trying to make a name for himself in his debut match.

Match Summary: Pretty bland match with neither man doing anything very good throughout. The finish comes when Chris Jericho climbs to the top rope, nailing Levesque with the Missile Dropkick to pick up the victory at 7:48. After the match, Jeff Jarrett runs in and levels Jericho with a guitar shot to the head.

Match Rating: * for what looked to be a pretty poor match. I'm pretty disappointed but hopefully they'll both be able to put on better matches down the road.

Razor Ramon cuts a promo about how he is the IC Champion for a reason and Shawn Michaels won't be taking home the gold any time soon(79%)

WWF Tag Title Match

Quebecers© w/Johnny Polo vs Steiner Brothers

Background: The Quebecers have held the Tag Titles for a while and are coming off a good victory over the Headshrinkers where Johnny Polo made himself a factor. The Steiner Brothers are looking to get some Tag Title gold to cement themselves as one of the top tag teams in the game today.

Match Summary: Very decent match which saw quite a few near falls and close finishes throughout. The Steiner Brothers almost won with a Frankensteiner but Polo distracted Dave Hebner. The finish came when the referee was distracted by Scott who was in the ring. Polo tossed his cane to Pierre who walloped Rick in the face with it, picking up the 3 count at 9:13. After the match, The Quebecers and Polo managed to beat Scott down, leaving both Steiner Brothers lying.

Match Rating: **1/4 for a very decent match that I thought might've been a little better.

WWF IC Title Match

Razor Ramon© vs Shawn Michaels w/Diesel

Background: Ramon had an impressive victory over Kwang on the premiere episode of Raw however has not done too much since then. Shawn Michaels has been taking verbal shots at Owen Hart over who the better wrestler is and is looking to prove himself the better man with a victory here.

Match Summary: Anoth solid match as both men seemed to click pretty well and managed to put together a good outing. Shawn Michaels managed to hit a Superkick however Ramon kicked out at 2 and 1/2. Razor went for the Razor's Edge but Shawn managed to slip out and hit his Tear Drop Suplex. Shawn grabbed the tights for added insurance, picking up the win and the IC Title at 7:25. After the match, Shawn quickly ran towards the backstage area and into the parking lot where a limo was waiting to take him away from the arena.

Match Rating: **1/2 which is pretty much what I was expecting from these two. I think they could put on some good matches if a possible feud develops between the two.

Royal Rumble Match

Background: Quite a few big names have been mentioned as competing in this including Mr. Perfect, Lex Luger and Owen Hart. Winner gets a WWF Title Shot at Wrestlemania X.

Match Summary: Pretty weak Rumble considering the past Rumbles that have taken place. Not many big names since they all had other matches to focus on. The final 4 came out pretty well, featuring Tatanka, Mr. Perfect, Lex Luger and Owen Hart. Perfect eliminated Tatanka while Owen managed to eliminate Luger. Owen and Perfect put on a good, short little match before Owen ducked a charging Perfect, sending him over the top rope for the WWF Title Shot at 57:16.

Match Rating: *1/4 for a very disappointing Rumble though part of the blame is the fact that there weren't enough big name wrestlers competing.

Hulk Hogan vs Undertaker w/Paul Bearer

Background: Both men had a heated confrontation backstage on the January 3rd Raw and have been talking about the incident since. They finally squared off on the January 17th Raw, leading up to this event where Undertaker managed to get the upper hand by Chokeslamming Hogan.

Match Summary: Surprisingly, a very decent contest as Hogan seemed to bring his working boots on for this PPV bout. Both men did very well against one another as Hogan began to Hulk up and even connected with the Big Boot and Legdrop but Undertaker sat up almost immediately. He low blowed Hogan behind the ref's back and delivered a Tombstone for the win at 8:37. After the match, the Undertaker picked up Hogan and delivered a second Tombstone before leaving with Paul Bearer.

Match Rating: ** in what was certainly a surprise to me.

WWF Title Match

Yokozuna© w/Mr. Fuji vs Bret Hart

Background: Bret Hart had made several comments about how he felt that Yokozuna was not what a respectable champion should be. Yokozuna responded by dominating the 1-2-3 Kid in a scheduled Title Defense with two Banzai Drops and pinning his younger brother, Owen with the Banzai Drop at last week's Raw. Bret took big offense to what happened and has vowed to win the Title tonight.

Match Summary: Surprisingly solid match between these two as Bret commanded Yokozuna to a watchable match. Bret managed to thwart a Mr. Fuji attempt at interference before rolling up Yokozuna with a modified Victory Roll(Messed up Victory Roll) out of the corner to pick up the win and become the new WWF Champion at 9:59. After the match, Yokozuna upon the orders of Mr. Fuji hit Bret with a Belly to Belly Suplex and the Banzai Drop. As Yoko and Fuji left, Owen ran out to check on Bret while the medics attended to him.

Match Rating: **1/4 in a very pleasant surprise which makes me think that keeping Yokozuna may not be such a bad thing.

Overall Rating: 74% for a pretty solid Royal Rumble card. Unfortunately no matches really stood out but feuds have been furthered and/or created which will help set the scene for Wrestlemania X.

Note: Raw got dropped by USA Network the night after the Rumble(Perfect timing no?) however I managed to get it back but it's now in a Graveyard Slot.

Monday Night Raw: February 7th, 1994

-The opening match was Crush taking on perennial jobber(and retiring at age 43) Pez Wheatley. Crush took the win in a squash match with the Hawaiian Crusher at 3:18(1/2*)

-The next match was supposed to be a Tag Title match however Johnny Polo managed to convince President Jack Tunney that the Titles would not be defended. The Quebecers faced the Smoking Gunns in a decent little match. Polo tried to interfere but Bart Gunn knocked him off the apron with a right hand, allowing Billy Gunn to connect with a Flying Legdrop to Pierre to pick up the upset win over the Tag Champs in 5:48(*3/4)

-A graphic is then shown promoting the Main Event for tonight's Raw...Shawn Michaels puts his newly won Intercontinental Title on the line against none other then Owen Hart!(88%)

-Bret Hart appeared on a video feed from his home. He talked about the attack from Yokozuna at the Royal Rumble and how doctors told him he would be out for a couple weeks but that he won the World Title and if anybody wants a shot, he'll gladly fight them(89%)

-WWF IC Title was on the line in the Main Event as Shawn Michaels took on Owen Hart in what one would call an early Match of the Year Candidate. Both men fought back and forth throughout in a highly contested bout. The finish came when Shawn managed to duck the Enzuiguri, low blow Hart behind the referee's back and deliver the Tear Drop Suplex to pick up the win at 14:23. After the match, Shawn grabbed a steel chair and began to beat down Owen in the ring as Diesel stood by keeping the officials at bay(****1/4)

Overall Rating: 79% on a great show that featured in an awesome Main Event.

Monday Night Raw: February 14th, 1994

-Once again a match opened for Monday Night Raw as Adam Bomb took on former Rocker Marty Jannetty. Surprisingly solid contest between these two as the finish came when Adam Bomb delivered the Slingshot Clothesline to pin Jannetty at 4:16(**)

-Shane Douglas made only his 3rd in ring appearance if you count the Royal Rumble Match when he took on former High Energy member Koko B. Ware. Shane took this match pretty easily, hitting the Pittsburgh Plunge in 4:41(3/4*)

-Bam Bam Bigelow and Tatanka teamed up to take on the generally unknown tandem of Well Dunn. Bigelow and Tatanka took this match quickly after Tatanka isolated Timothy Well and hit the End of the Trail in 5:25(*). After the match, Bigelow and Tatanka celebrated to the delight of the fans.

-Chris Jericho came out to fight P.J. Walker. Jericho quickly disposed of Walker with a Flying Forearm in 2:08 however he remained in the ring after the match. Jarrett walked out, guitar in hand and trash talking Jericho but he promptly just turned around and left to big heat(1/2*)

-In the Main Event, the Undertaker recently victorious over Hulk Hogan took on the American Hero, Lex Luger in what proved to be a very, very good match. Both men fought back and forth with Luger showing signs of returning to his NWA Form. The finish came when Undertaker managed to slip out of the Torture Rack, spinning Luger around and connecting with the Tombstone for the win at 9:37. After the match, Undertaker picked up Luger and delivered a Chokeslam for added measure(***1/4)

Overall Rating: 68% which is a little disappointing considering last week's show but still perfectly acceptable.

Monday Night Raw: February 21st, 1994

-Shawn Michaels came out to the ring to talk with Vince McMahon. The Heartbreak Kid gloated about how great an IC Champion he was and that he would continue his dominance tonight when he defends his Title against the 1-2-3 Kid(80%)

-Diesel debuted a new Bad Ass gimmick here as he ambushed Marty Jannetty backstage with a clothesline from behind and stomps. Diesel picked up Jannetty and tossed him hard into the wall before making his way to the ring(68%)

-Diesel took on the fun clown, Doink in this match. Diesel won in a fairly short match as he hit the Jacknife Powerbomb to pick up the victory. After the match, Diesel picked up Doink and delivered a second Jacknife Powerbomb to big heat(*1/4)

-The WWF IC Title was on the line here as Shawn Michaels defended against the young pinball, the 1-2-3 Kid. Great back and forth match as both men pulled out high risk moves time and time again. Diesel was noticably absent from this match which raised questions from the commentators, Vince and Ross. Shawn picked up the win after rolling out of the way of the Moonsault and delivering the Tear Drop Suplex at 8:36. After the match, Shawn grabbed a steel chair and waffled the Kid repeatedly with it until Owen Hart ran out, chasing away Shawn Michaels(***1/4)

-The Main Event pitted two legends battling it out as Bret Hart made his return after the vicious attack at the Royal Rumble to a big pop. His opponent was none other then Hulk Hogan! Trying to prove himself still worthy of a Main Event spot it seems. A very solid match as Hogan once again seemed to have his working boots on. Good moves from both men with the finish coming when Bret locked Hogan in the Sharpshooter for the surprise tap out win in 11:26. After the match, Hogan and Bret both shook hands and celebrated to big cheers from the crowd as the show closed(**1/2)

Overall Rating: 77% for another very solid show. Pleasant surprise to see good matches coming from Hulk Hogan, Undertaker and Lex Luger lately. Shawn Michaels continues to put on great matches with his opponents which is certainly nice to see.

Monday Night Raw: February 28th, 1994

-Chris Jericho opened the show taking on the martial artist, Kwang. Jericho picked up the win with a Missile Dropkick in 4:17 in a short but decent match. Afterwards, Jarrett ran in with the guitar but Jericho thwarted his attack, managing to KO Jarrett with his own guitar to a solid pop(*1/2)

-The tag division came back into focus somewhat as Men on a Mission battled the Bushwhackers. Pretty poor match from both sides but it was to be expected. The end came when Mabel hit a big splash on Butch for the win in 4:32. After the match, the Quebecers ran in and took out both teams with steel chairs to big heat as Johnny Polo celebrated on the outside(1/4*)

-Rick Martel finally made an in-ring appearance taking on the Brooklyn Brawler. Very, very disappointing match as Martel picked up the win with the Boston Crab in 5:20 in a squash(DUD)

-Randy Savage made a rare in-ring appearance as he took on the aging Virgil. Savage took this match pretty easily with the Flying Elbow at 3:54(3/4*)

-In the Main Event, the #1 Contendor's Spot for the IC Title was on the line as Razor Ramon took on Mr. Perfect in a decent match up. Good heat for this as both men pulled out a few signature spots for the fans. The finish came when Ramon went for the Razor's Edge however Perfect managed to slip out, delivering the Perfect Plex for the victory in 7:38(*3/4)

Overall Rating: Extremely disappointing 59% on a show trying to build up a few wrestlers.

Mr. Perfect has won a shot at the IC Title and is officially the #1 Contendor. What will the Heartbreak Kid have to say about this?

The other Main Event will be for the WWF Title. Mr. Fuji has demanded that his client, Yokozuna get his rightful re-match and President Jack Tunney has agreed! Bret Hart defends his Title for the first time in a Royal Rumble re-match against the Japanese monster, Yokozuna!
