Guest Ray Report post Posted August 22, 2003 A spin off of another topic... Which is the better Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart match, Survivor Series 1992 or Wrestlemania 12? I feel the Iron Man is insanely overrated. The selling is poor and the matwork is boring, simplistic, and just...bad. Shawn lacked the offense to go an hour, and Bret sure wasn't giving 100%. Not doing ANY pins or submissions was also stupid. I can't believe anyone would call this the best Wrestlemania match ever (and some have). The Survivor Series 1992 match is much better. An underrated, somewhat forgotten classic. Smarter match with more effort from both men and a clean finish (far superior to the silly Iron Man finish). I'd say it's one of Shawn's 10 best matches. Your choice? (Btw, I know they wrestled in other matches. They had a ladder match in 92 and a cage match in 93, and the infamous Montreal match, but I'd like to keep the discussion to the two matches I listed.) Plus it was before the feud began, so Shawn didn't have any problems jobbing to Bret. Just because they went an hour-plus in the Iron Man match doesn't make it better. Well, you can't really be faulted for missing SS92...the Bret/Shawn title match and an interesting Savage/Perfect vs. Flair/Razor tag match were the only things worth watching on the entire card. godthedog 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 SS 92, easily. aside from a couple rookie pacing mistakes by shawn (chinlocks where there shouldn't be), the flow is MUCH better, and the last 5 minutes those guys are feeling it. the timing of bret making the comeback, then crushing his nuts in the ropes on a high cross body attempt is perfect.
